Just finished moving my system over to this new case, purchased yesterday:

http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/lanfire/vm2000a.htm

So far so good. Smooth installation. Alittle cramped but also has five monitored fans and a 420watt power supply. The PCB does a good job of monitoring temps and adjusting fan controls. Also the little flame deally blinks ever so nicely, hehehe.

(btw did you know that the cpu temp rises a full 20 degrees or so when playing graphics intensive games?, like Far Cry)

nah, really

i have a 400 watt tower, with a 9000 radeon, and when i benchmarked it with the mad onion video bench, it actually sounded like... well i could actually hear my fans slow a touch, and my power supply kicking in.

i cannot describe it really, but it made sorta the same noise a welder makes, not the electrodes, but the power source, you know that low drone..

anywho's, nice case juim..

BTW, you started a story thread, but never took the time to check on its progress.. it died, and it was all your stinkin fault

The CPU heat increase varies a lot. Depends on what kind of video card you have, and the true airflow of your case. Optimally you want equal in and out flow. Which I don't think would be achieved with 5 fans. You may want one more or one less. Cramped cases can restrict airflow as well as ribbon cable.

It's a disgusting eye sore of a case and you should be shot for buying it ... well actually I'm just kidding ... the case looks okay

In all honestly though, that case is the uglyest I've seen yet, no offense. I'm with Tracer on this one ... not that I need to take a 'side' or anything ...

Nepotism - Favoritism shown or patronage granted to relatives, as in business.

OK I don't get it :leper:

I've never seen the point in fancy cases myself... I suppose it's because of the customization you get, but still it seems a little wierd. Or maybe I'm only saying this because my CPU cabinet is almost always open with all the wires hanging out.

I've got a windowed Case, a nice black $80CDN one. The other reasons why I go it were 8(!) fan slots. And just a general durable construction. Xaser stuff is just like alienware, pricey and you're only paying for the name. It's a little cheaper than alienware, but still too much.

Nice case, mine is almost the same but different light up decal in the front and mine is black:

http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase/xaser3/v1000a.htm

I added two red LEDs inside so it has a red glow, it looks pretty awesome

One thing is for sure, these cases are SOLID. When I recently moved I nearly broke my back trying to put it in the back seat of my car.

My cpu temp gauge never worked though, I never tried to get it replaced because I didn't feel like hasseling with removing the sensor from behind the cpu. Oh well, its just a toy anyway.

well, I spent too much, (around 180 american, including tax) but I have been wanting a new case for a year, and I used a pinch from my tax refund so I did'nt feel the pain too much.

Grim, I installed the sensor between the heatsink and the cpu, because it said I could'nt put it under the intel cpu. The temperature variance is like two degrees in accuracy. As far as even airflow, I have control over the speed of four of the five fans, so I have been experimenting with which ones help the most. Its a tight case but I have managed to keep the temp to about 92 degrees during the most intensive applications.

Ugly?, How dare you mock the beauty of my streamlined Lanfire VM2000a!. Did'nt you see the flame blinky thingy!!!!!!!!!!

bah!

Oh and just to make me feel better, I saw it on a website for 99.00!. I cant find which one but if you look around you'll find it cheaper than what I paid.

Wow ... that's way too much money to pay for any one item in your computer, short of your video card. Meaning, you could have gotten ram

Anyway, I'm just giving you a hard time. But I do think it's an ugly case, sorry. I just find that spending money, like that, on a case is ... odd to say the least. Enjoy your new case, you'll regret buying it if you don't

I put the sensor under my AMD barton 3000+ cpu, maybe it was suposed to go where you put it.
