since V3, we went out of our way to rate each other's maps.. now that they are old, and V4 is out, we have slipped in our obligations a bit..

we need to get off our duff's and rate a few of our respected mappers..

their maps, and accomplishments may be older ones, but does that mean with V4 that we have to leave them un-noticed..

new people will arrive, and at least partially base their opinions of us on out maps, and user ratings..

take a moment.. rate someone.. they deserve it..

yes, i have been guilty as well.. but will endeavor to rectify this today..

expect a few PM notices to go out saying so

remember, once upon a time.. these maps deserved our notice.. lets show the newer member which

Whoever rated me a "1", thanks.

At least it's better than a zero.

is this an offbeat way of asking for a critique dietz?

lep hasn't set me up for anything official yet, so it would have to be one of my normal ones..

if you wanted one.. all you have to do is ask... uhhh you know my trepidations on doing them without a request.. :/

Indeed, I too am awaiting the map review section.  With a spell checker too   If you remember Orph.

And the rating system - as far as I know - doesnt tell you who rated you but only how many people rated you a 1 or a 2 and so on.

The person rating doesn't say who, the map rating does. In order to rate a map you sort of have to make a comment on it, and it says who made it

we must be on two different pages here..

1) the personal rating system is incognito, meaning you can rate someone with no way of them knowing whom did what.. this IMO is a bit lopsided, as it promotes cowardly ratings..

2) the map rating system is a bit better... you post a word or two and it logs you as the respondent.. this is far and away better IMO...

i would keep my rating open, no matter the score i receive, cause in the secret version, its a bit less accurate..

i wouldn't alter my scores, no matter whom knew...

I dont like snarkpit because of my # of post counts, my snark marks, or my rating..I like it because I can hang out and talk with highly respected mappers, like Reno, MR.Notben, Campign junkie, cough vash, and many many more...Like snarkpit for what it offers you..

I don't get to whip n00bs, nor do I get noticed like them. I'm stuck in the twilight zone of mapping.

I could go out of character and try treating you like a n00b for a little while if you really want me to. It'll probably just consist of me mocking you with my uber pseudo-leet or comments about your mother and/or dog, but hey, I'm willing to try.

I really wanted people to rate me, but since my maps are in TS and are hence exclusive it's not really possible. Feedback from the community and competition from other mappers has really made me want to improve my existing ones though.

I feel I have the gamplay aspect fairly nailed, all my maps are damn fun and a great many people like them, however mappers mostly don't. I have a fair idea why as well, mostly they are fairly sparse and can be somewhat bland, o I'm trying to improve the more 'arty' side of my mapping Admiteddly R_Speeds are high ish in some of them, but I'm fairly confident I can fix a lot of this in the next version.

Acutally I'd be interested to hear what anyone here though of my TS maps, since criticism can only help me feel free to PM away.

Oh, I'm sure I would notice an antenna if it was one of your disgusting, poorly scaled monstrosities YOU call an antenna. And you put an env_glow on top when it was like 1500 units away! Will that make ANY sort of difference?! No, of course not! It practically won't even render or anything! And another thing; too many little red lights! Argh!

I think I'll have to get some Snabbits to tear you a new one.

As a person, I'd tend to believe I'm the most disliked fellow here, and I probably deserve it. However, I think a little bit of my philosophy has crept onto the mainstream ideals of the forum, because I made my first real posts due to the fact that our criticism was limited to 'Looks gr8 m8'.

So goodnight, and

he also gives himself a lot of credit for the way we are towards mapping feedback, especially considering most of us vocal people are the same people we were before we came to SP..

certainly most of us reflect his voice, but at least in my case, it was a voice that came with me to SP, not one i cultivate since arriving..

i can say this whole heartedly, i would much rather have cass on my side, than on the opposing one..
