/me went and tried out the AviKit mod thingy. it's for coding into mods the ability to play avi's. it also comes with a small test mod that you can put into your hl folder (steam and sierra both worked for me) it has only one map, which is a tv room with a barney as company. the .map file is there too, if you want redecorate the tv room or make the screen larger etc. you'll need your own avi's for this to work, and you'll need to add them to a playlist.txt in the avikit mod folder. all very simple stuff to set up, but i imagine another matter to code into a mod.

just think, once it's part of a multi-player mod there can be virtual cinemas that you can go to with all your online mates, and you'll all get to see different movies on the same screen.

Lol. If someone did that, first thing you know, someone would make a map that was only dedicated to movies -- then you have hollywood ripping their hair out saying, "He copied out movie! Piracy!" Naturally, the movie wouldn't be out in stores yet.

Yippie Ki Yay!

like i say, you need to have your own avi's for this to work, so it's not as if we're likly to see any multiplex cinema maps with 10gigs of movies embedded in them.

yet.
