Just finished another mario map.  Since this is a mario thread, just thought I'd add it to return this thread to what the SnarkPit is all about:

maps, and map feedback and helping people who make maps.

So without further ado, here is Mario_Xmas:

I really see no relation to 'mario' in that last shot...

BTW everyone, I think this latest map is actually rather good.  I meant to write a crit on it but got too busy with my own map.

Anyway here's a short version:
  • Good r_speeds
  • Strong theme - reminds me very much of the small amount of Mario64 I've seen.
  • Neat gameplay touches - the rising water works well to level out the height advantage.
The best thing about the map is the theme.  In the other areas of the map (not shown), it is almost exactly like the castle sections in M64.  There are so many Doc maps; for those who only want to download a selection, I recommend looking at this one.

It's "Wet Dry World", right?  From Mario 64?  It doesn't get much more related than that.

I like all these mario maps, they are surreal enough to have some really good fun in and get away from...sanity, really. Look like fun, though

(PS: Arguments on the internet: I found an extremely relevant comment in the Vlatitude tips one day, but since they are random, it will be hard to find out what it is. Any of you who do visit Vlatitude might know what it is. That is all)

If it's that running in the Special Olympics thing then you gotta be pretty naive to believe that's restricted to Vlatitude.

I believe the last time that "Special Olympics" joke was posted, it started a mini flame-war all of its own.  Oh, the irony

i dunno which you mean, but someone (i think it was lep) posted a very offencive picture about them..

i am a heartless S.O.B. but i get very upset when people poke fun at downs kids..

i would really rather not see it again please..

i have a cousin who has downs.. its not as special as they make it out to be.. downs kids require a lot of time and energy..

anyways... its not a cool subject.
