If you are gonna get a cheap case which comes with a 3-400w PSU buy another PSU for about ?40+. The zalman range are very nice and quiet as are the antec.

Why would you buy a new PSU for a case that came with a 350 or 400-watt one?

If you spend ?30 or something getting a case with a psu, to then replace the psu, then why not get a better case without a psu for the same money? Also, if you are going to spend ?30 on a psu, prolly better to up it to around ?50 to get a well respected brand like Antec or Enermax.
To be honest though, budget is obviously a critical factor here, so don't concentrate on parts like the psu and case, just get some budget combo for ?30 or so. Ensure it comes with a reasonable wattage though, you will probably want about 350-400W for that spec I'd guess.

Just don't expect it to last too long. 400w PSU's which come with cheaper case's tend to blow-up a lot more, not saying that all do, just a higher percentage than if you went out and brought an antec or a zalman psu.

$loth, was it you that had like 6 or 7 fans all running off of your psu at one time?

Reno, you forget enlight. I've 'heard' Sprarkle is good too for power supplies. But ... you know the Power supply has been pretty much nailed by every company to make one. I mean, yeah, maybe you've had a bad experience with one company. But making a power supply isn't an art or something like that (as opposed to making chipsets or something as such). So, the power-brand isn't that important as long as it works (properly).

I've got a similar case to that one. Except mine is black, so it looks really dirty.

LOL Gorb, 8?! And there was me thinking I had plenty with 4
Quite a nice case gimp, though I don't like the fan lighting shown in that picture - not too keen on multi-coloured LEDs.
I recently got a Thermaltake Lanfire case in silver, and a Thermaltake Purepower Butterfly PSU to match it. I'm happy with both but the front of the case is plastic as opposed to aluminium, so it feels a bit cheap  Also, the case's front USB connector doesn't fit my mobo's USB pins - is the pin layout random or something? Some of the mobo's in my house will fit and others won't.

Well I've got an Athlon Barton 3000XP, 512mb DDR 3200, Radeon 9600XT all running off a 250-300W PSU and it works fine! Just read the boxes off all your hardware, add it all up and see if you need all the power your buying! You only really need a huge amount if you have a lot of HD's or CD drives or stuff. Basic PC's only need 300W max.
As for price, I'd spend ?30 to get a good brandless or unknown brand silent PSU. Most people here are just as fewlish as a lot of people- your paying for a name. PSUs never explode unless you do stupid stuff, and silent PSU's or near silent make all the difference to the atmosphere in your games. You don't want a noisy PC ruining your game of Splinter Cell- where really quiet sounds are a big thing.

I don't actually know why I did the sad face as 3 case fans are sufficient.
But I can't wait till I get my Chieftech dragon next week  Gonna put in a window on both sides [ maybe] and on the top, then sand it and spray it, i'll try and think of some other stuff, but im not 100% sure of it atm, it involes blue lazer led's.

eurk... you guys are like boy racers putting a huge spoiler on the back of their car along with little blue lights on the things that squirt water onto the windscreen (windshield). Or the subwoofer that totally drowns out the whole rest of the music. Or... gah I dunno. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with that, but personally I hate it.

Who cares SJ, its no skin off your nose, nor is this a discussion about whether people like modded cases or not.

Jesus Reno, show a little understanding. For all you know he could have been raped by a modified case. Jerk.
