I tried a search and it didn't yield what I wanted, so sorry for this repeat.

But I have a friend who is having a problem with the Steam favorite server list thing not saving his favorites, and I'm pretty sure I remember someone else here having that problem. If you could point me to the solution I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I had the same problem, did your friend try posting at steam directly? (eg:www.steampowered.com/forums)

Solution:

Open the server window outside of any game (i.e. from the main Steam
menu), and save your favourites there. It should transfer over to the
games and stay there. Works for me at least. You can only modify the list outside of any games though.

Some people have said deleting their "serverbrowser.vdf" under their Steam/config folder has fixed the problem. (Remember to restart steam of course, so the file is regenerated).

Personally I'm taking the stance of your signature on this one

The only way I can connect to any server is by typing th I.P. addres in the console. Does any one have any ideas on why?

I don't know about your problem angel, but I have that favorite list problem as well. I also tried using Statsmeow, a stats program for DOD, but for some reason I couldn't join a server when it was running. When I deleted it all my in game DOD settings had been erased, my control config, as well as my favorite server list, which was when the problem started.
