Run it through a program that isn't streaming the image.
Such as an editing program (premire), take a screen shot from that and crop away.
I haven't found another way. And the reason why it happens is just because the file is streamed when it's played, so, when you copy the information it's a pointer and pointers change. (At least that's how I can figure it in a psuedocoding sense)

If it isn't streaming the video ... I've never used it, so I wouldn't know.
To be general any 'player' will not work. The thing needs to cache the entire file (or that frame when you pause) for you to be able to screen shot it (and for them not to be asses and not allow you to copy the cached version). Streaming doesn't allow this (no s**t, right?).

As a side note. That image is stretched.

I think Fraps should work. If I rememder right it worked for me. With
this program you can take screens from WMP or WMPclassic or whatever
videoprogram you're using. You can also see FPS whenever you want.
Quite a hand program.

Premiere is an awesome import/export program with some limited editing
ability. I'd use it mostly for using cuts between scenes ect. I'd
also build avi's off of premiere. However editing should use
Aftereffects which simply defeats Premiere in all editing asepects.
After the scene is edited to your liking reimport into premier and work
your stuff together and export to vhs or dvd, which ever you prefer.
Speaking of which I should get my 2d animations digital and uploaded this week.
