hey guys,
i'm looking to join a mod team thats making a single player mod for hl2,
i'm not a great mapper and don't expecte alot from me , i just want to
get some experience with mapping for mods etc. so i can get better , i
got good mapping ideas so if your mod has a good mapper then maybe he
can help me get my ideas into a map?
anyway, if any team leader is so friendly to let me in the team, i
won't want any credits of mod etc. becouse my stuff will probarbly not
end up used anyway, but i'll just make maps and map ideas for it so i
can learn, and maybe something will turn out to be cool and then you
can use it inyour mod
please let me join
thanks
[EDIT]
please don't abuse me or whatever becouse i make this post, i know i'm
a newb so don't go whining about that in here, please serious replys
only,

Why not just make maps on your own for mods you'd like to make maps for and post them on this site for people's advice on how to improve them.
That would be more valuable then a team of noobs telling you you've got "mad mapporz skillz". (By the way, the only people that would actually have you work on their team with no experience would be noobs themselves, an experienced team wants to get the mod done.)

I'm lookin' for some mods too, BioPulse. I've just done some searches on ModDB.com and found some interesting mods. I might apply for some soon, dunno where it'll get me though
Best of luck to you.

I'm afraid that Crono is right on the ball with this one, there is
little point in joining a mod if you aren't experienced as the only
ones that will have you, you probably don't want to be a part of. You
can learn plenty by mapping on your own behalf, and having a community
of people who enjoy giving harsh but fair feedback (ie. here) is of far
more use to you than blindly complimenting mod team members.

As the others have already stated, you
are better off just using the editor offline. I remember when I first
began mapping three years ago (-sniff- time goes by so quick) and
after a few months all I wanted to do was 'be part of a mod team'.
Why? Because mod teams are the highlight of Half-Life editing. I
always saw mod teams as that sort of prize you get if you actually
took the time to learn to code, model, map, or do anything else that
would be relevant to the team. But as time
went forward my eyes began to open more and more and I understood
that being on a mod team isn't just to 'get your stuff onto the
Internet so you will become famous' - its
about working with fellow non-profit developers on something that
isn't rushed or hindered by publishing companies (ie: having to cut
games features because the game missed its
ship date) and something that is truly made by people who are so
passionate about games that they took it upon themselves to learn how
to create them; just so they can make that special game they've
always had in their head. Just like they said, stick to mapping on
your own and eventually you will notice
that its just as good as mapping for a mod team, and one day when you
are adept enough to join one you will have the self satisfaction of
knowing that you struggled to reach the
position you are in, and you are worthy of
the spot.

but i'll get it soon and then i'll just learn , or try to, use the new tools and maybe someday actualy finish a nice map

We must have a mapping contest to solve this. Ring the "Bell O' Mapping".
