Im tryin the same sort of thing, i want my stairs to go straight down, the turn and go again, i cannot find any kind of props, this could be because its fot counter strike, but if your doing it for HL2 then there is a couple of railing props, i think there under C17_props.

Stairs seem to be somewhat limited

in dm_lockdown there are stairs i was thinkin that there would be a model for stairs. Otherwise we will have to make our own legit stairs usin blocks etc.

Um... I'd suggest just doing brush-based stairs. nearly all of them in the game were done this way. If you want props for it I think you will have to make them yourself.

There's also a texture to help with finding the right height for each stair...check the dev textures, I forget which it is exactly.

DO NOT post multiple problems in a single topic- start new topics for each one, or else your post may be deleted

Yeah I don't really understand the question. There isn't any stair builder in Hammer (although that would be nice...). You just make one brush after another just like everything else

There's some nice stairs in the dm_lockdown example vmf if you're looking for ones to the HL2-standard scale - Just use them as a template and build your own to your desired specifications. There's also a 'stair' dev texture.

Why? Given the low number of people that still actively post here, I see no need to do so, nor do I see need to revive such an old thread.

Besides, nobody marked their post as a possible answer...

If you need a set of stairs, check the Prefabs HL2 category for a prefab named "simple_stairway_steps".
