I'm new to map making and I've made a simple map for SoF2 in
GtkRadient. I now want to add a model into it (a desk). I inserted the
model by right clicking on the main window and going to
Model->model_static, then choosing the desk's model file. The
problem is that when I play, I can walk straight through the model. I
searched for my problem and got some stuff about "prop_physics" and
"prop_physics_multiplayer", but I can't work out how to add them or use
them. I'm running GtkRadiant 1.4.0 on WinXP Pro SP1.

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure that the stuff you found about prop_physics objects was
referring to the source engine, for which you make levels using hammer.
I've never done any radiant mapping nor mapping for SoF2, but I'm
assuming it doesn't have these entities.

At a guess, I'd say first of all check the properties of the desk model
your placed in your level to ensure it doesn't have any options such as
"make solid" or "clip player" or something. If it doesn't, then you may
need to build your own clipping for the object using clip brushes.
These are just normal brushes like the ones you use for your walls,
floor or whatever, only they are covered entirely in the "clip"
texture". In SoF2 it might be different but most engines have some sort
of clip texture that when assigned to all faces of a brush, becomes
invisible but still blocks the player. Place one or more clip brushes
over the area of the desk to stop players going through it.

Unfortunately this might mean bullets can still pass through, in which
case you might need to look for alternative methods. I'm afraid we
don't have much experience in our community with Radiant, so I wouldn't
hold out too much hope for more specific help

Reno's right, you found the information on the Half-Life 2 model props. Unfortunately there isn't much of a Radiant/quake 3 engine/Soldier of Fortune 2 section here.

However, I think I can help.

Load up the tools/ texture set, and you'll find the editor textures. This includes portals, caulk/nodraw, clips, hint, ladder, sky, etc. etc. You'll see there's a lot of clip types in there.

You'll need blocknpc_shotclip to prevent weapons fire from passing through it. As noted in the filename, this will also block NPC characters and (I assume) the player character. If not, use shotclip brushes to cover the model and then make a larger regular clip brush encompassing the whole thing.

Depending on the model, you might also want to try the invisible shootable textures (_shoot, _shoot_metal, _shoot_sandbag, _shoot_stone, and _shoot_wood) for better effects. For example, if the shot clip gives the wrong material type on impact, try shoot_metal or shoot_wood for the shot collision model on the desk.

Hope that helps!

The clue is in where it says "Half-Life 2" or "Call of Duty" at the top of the page

Off topic completely, but I've just noticed a huge similarity between KFS' avatar of that woman from that game and Alyx from HL2! Intermeresting...
