searched thru most of the forums...took a while... and couldn't find anything about it. Maybe i'm just being a retard so i apologise if this has come up before/repeatedly
when creating prop_physics entities for hl2dm map i see only the hl2 models. after putting cs:s on i realised there were some lovely models (the pc's on the office map for example) that i would like to use in my hl2dm level
Is there a way of importing these files using hammer, e.g. by adding them to the game configurations or some such, or is further set up required, i.e. exporting and importing the prefabs/models.
if unfortunately, the latter is the only option is ther a link to a tutorial for quickly extracting the models from cs:s to hl2dm
cheers

I'm just guessing, but I expect you could simply poke around in the CS gcf files until you find the model you want, and then move it to the models folder for HL2DM. You could also just extract all of the CS models to this location, and I bet they would all become available for DM maps.

okay so i've got the models in each respective directory within the hl2dm folder as follows:
\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials\models\Characters\CounterTerrorist.phy
(for example)
what do i do next. if i load hammer up and look for the model none of them show on th ebrowser. should i have ignored the subdirectory? does the browser not find the files? am i missing something blatantly obvious?
help!

Are you sure? I would expect that it would look in both the GCF file, and the corresponding directory in a manner similar to the way pak files operated in HL1.

You need to extract the materials from the materials/models/ folder, keeping the same dir. structure, remember that.
And yes, it's configured to look in the GCF files only for some reason and not in a models folder, which is rather stupid imo. You must manually enter the name.
