I was wondering if it is just me or when you create a CS map is the default light set to like full bright. When i go in to test my map everything is lit up, there are no shadows and my lights dont show up. How do I fix this?

To fix that, you add some lights. Use texture lighting (a tut is on this site for it) or some light entities. I am pretty sure either will fix your problem

Also you will get fullbright lighting if your map leaks. Look for **LEAKED** in the compiler output.

What you also need to ensure is that mat_fullbright is set to 0. Source automatically puts fullbright on (ie sets it to 1) if there are no lights in ur map. However sometimes it will not switch it off (back to 0), leaving you wondering why ur level looks like such a piece of s**t.
To fix it, type sv_cheats 1 in console, then mat_fullbright 0. If you still have no lights, then maybe its a leak/compilation error.

You might also check to see that you are in fact running Vrad.
