I want to make a fan blade that looks good but all I know how to do is make squares triangles etc. I want a different one, one that is not symmetrical. Like one that is a shape I would have to make customly. How would I do that?

I'd say your best bet is to create your own model and import it. It
doesn't seem like a good idea to construct such a detailed object out
of brushes.

You CAN do things like that with brushes, but just like any 3D model, you'll need to construct it from primitives. ALL game models, however complex, are made entirely from triangles.
