I have no point_camera on my entity list. Why is this?
I am mapping for Counter-Strike: Source... that may be the problem but I wouldn't think so.

Me either. Seeing as they don't have any of the other camera
entities I'd make the wild assumption that CS: S doesn't support
cameras.

I had this problem with CS:S as well BUT if you just type in point_camera (ignoring the fact that it doesnt show up in your list of entities) and hit enter it should show up anyways. Either that or load up a map that has the point_camera on it and copy & paste it into your map you're making for CS:S. That's what I did and it turned out just fine  I havent figured out how to do some of the other cool stuff like panning the camera or moving it with another brush but you can definately get it to work.

Hmm, so apparently CS: S does have support for cameras, it just hasn't been incorporated into the fgd file yet for some reason...

I tried just calling it point_cameras but didn't allow it. I don't know any Source maps that have a camera in them.
Ah well... my plan for a control room has failed

you can add in the fgd file for HL2 which does give you the point_camera entity, and cameras work fine. you do however, get all of the entities for HL2 which unnessesarily clutters your entity list. but like i said, it does work.. so its up to you.

just because you can add a point camera to the fgd doesnt mean that it
will work in-game, do an experiment to see if it will work, only then i
will believe it.
BTW has anyone experimented to see if in HL2 DM another player will
appear on screen?( I know your self doesnt appear, nor I can immagine
that CSS will, but do other players appear?)

I get an error with my SDK to make it for HL2 or HL2DM, I know how to sort the problem and add these entities. This is not the problem.
The problem is I am not spending an hour doing this to find it doesn't work, are you 100% POSITIVE it works?

That's a map Ive been using to experiment with different things. Ive got a point_camera (called 'Camera') and a func_monitor (don't remember what that's called) and they work. Dont laugh at my play map
And yes, 100% positive it works in CS:S
EDIT: Dang it.. I guess I cant post a URL in here.. hrmmm

Cheers, tested it... works fine. Did you actually have it on your entity list, or did you just create it yourself?
