Oh no!! I used to dominate on this map on the K9 Bubble Mod server. Hope it's as fun for HL2 as it is for HL1

It's about time you showed yourself round these parts
Make sure you add a few more bars in the 'pit' so the player models take a good bashing when they fall in with the ragdoll physics.
The map looks a little sparse and plain at the moment (still a little too HL1ish), and could benefit from some more adventurous brush-work
The other maps are still cool - though i've been unable to have a proper play of them as FLF never has any servers online...no surprise there though eh? You surprised me with flf_dusk too! I wasn't expecting to have a whole castle area as all the previous screenshots you'd showed me were of the terrain.

I can't wait to play this map on a DM mod that has a longjump and gets
rid of the stupid run meter. I like this map a lot when it comes
up on the bubblemod server I play on.

Yah man I loved your maps. How about a HL2 port of Devious?, that would rock. That was one of the coolest maps ever. Or Sputnik!@!! an even trippier map.Glad to see your still around devious. I reviewed all your stuff at the Diner site when it was up. Good luck mapping with HL2.

Hi Adam , i wasnt really going to spend any time on this map hence it is fairly plain, it was just a little excercise in getting used to the new hammer. I may add a few bits and bobs to make it a little more interesting to look at and those bars in the pit are a good idea i will add those :dorky: .
Mouse , Im glad you liked the old pit map , it was made for dinners times at work on our lan and was a blast. I agree with you that a new DM mod is needed especially with a long jump and a gauss . This map seems to play ok with 5 or 6 in though its usually a fight for the crossbow surpisingly enough as its weaker than it was before. I had a problem with the pit filling up with the physics stuff but I sorted that.
Juim, wow .. Devious & Sputnik that was a long time ago .. 5 years ?? I may have a go with a remake of Devious but i think im going to try a hl2 themed map first.

scratches buttocks, pointedly ignores urge to sniff finger
Why does this name look so familiar? Where have i heard it before? Should I act appropriately humble or what?
goes and washes finger, just in case i need to shake hands

Aye, looks ok for a first experiment in the new Hammer - one thing you
don't seem to have taken advantage of is the addition of props. When it
comes round to making a proper project, props are invaluable for
detailing the level, without the performance hit.
Also I would add that HL2's mechanics and sheer scale means HL2DM play
is more well placed in large, open areas. The physics engine/grav gun
and the general lack of "oomph" from other weapons has completely
flipped the gameplay on it's head.

Ive added some detail and ambience and all the sounds work right now. Its finished i think , except I have wanted you to spawn without the phy_cannon but i couldnt get it to work so i had to strip all the weapons and provide the pistol and smg near by the spawn. Not sure it works as sometimes you spawn with no guns near you if players pick them all up. I can change that for final, then work carry on a new project.
