okay, I need a 32-sided spike brush to make a round roof...so i created and textured it, leaving the geometry untouched.
The map compiles and runs perfectly, and there aren't any rendering problems, but every time i close and reopen the map in hammer, it says that brush was removed due to "an error in the file"

Clip it in half (so that there are two 17 sided half-spikes) and try again. If that doesn't work, halve it again!

Works. No problem since i just needed a quarter of spike. But that's a pretty strange bug, it should be notified to valve!

I have this same problem with a 32 sided spike in my map also. But if I
put the spike in a different location, just a couple units higher for
example.. everything is fine and it doesn't remove the brush anymore on
startup!

What causes this?

I can't quite remember, but doesn't the option for the number of sides on a spike only go up to 16?
