Over the weekend Atlanta, GA was hit by a huge ice storm. I lost power for 2 days as did most citizens.

I am so impressed by our helplessness. All we can do is clean up
the mess this storm left us. who would think some rain and cold
air could do so much damage? It also makes me think of how well
the city runs when it is not under attack from nature. Almost
every citizen has running water, gas, and electrisity. Traffic
lights go on working, street lamps turn on and off. Its like a
dance that so few people seem to ever notice.

anyways, here are some pics.

oh yeah, this wasn't bad or anything. I used to live in PA and we
had ice storms like this in June (well not really) and it wasn't a big
deal.

But this is a city of 4 million people who dont know how to drive or
even walk on ice. It was 80 degrees just a week ago. A
friend and I got lost in a maze of downed trees on the way to her
house. Atlanta is full of trees with shallow roots so in strong
wind or ice they just tip right over. We lose about 25 trees a
year in my area of town.

Jesus, man, we had something like an f3-f4 tornado near Constanta
(Constanza), Romania. Tornadoes in Romania!!! And it's not even the
first one! The climate has gone to heck! And yes, we're under heavy
snow aswell, but nothing unusual. Might I add, it snowed like hell in April last year.

The climate gave up on as the day we invented hair spray.

If the ice caps melt and the gulf stream stops, were all gonna be cold for a LOOOONG time.
