Can someone do a Fog Controller mini map tutorial for me? and explain how to use it?

I have been trying to get fog to work on my map and have not yet been
able to. A small example and a read me on how to do it would do wonders
for me. Thanks in advance. Please post it here and link me.. that way
others can also learn how its done.

It's not at all hard to get this entity working correctly, if you're not seeing any fog perhaps your computer/GC can't handle it? A 'default settings' entity should work fine.

Make sure it's actually fog that you wan't.

The fog effect is really a "haze" effect, and causes the fog color to wash out surfaces at a distance.

The func_smokevolume entity is generally what you want if you're really looking for fog. I think what's-his-name  has a tutorial on www.akilling.org that covers environmental effects.

Hope this helps.

I know this is an old thread, but it came up in the search!
With the fog start and end properties what axis is it refering to?

I don't think start and end refer to any axis. It's spherical I think. There is no fog before the distance set in "start" and it fades to a solid color until the distance set in "end".

An interesting link I found about the "Use Angles" value:

Why snark works.

Geez, did you actually search? I answered this just a couple of months ago.
