I still don't quite get it until now... How can I let Alyx, Barney, or other NPC actors speak lines from the single-player game? Why is the sentence.txt I found in the .GCF file limited only to in-game combine chatter?
Do I have to use the choreograph sequence trigger for the NPCs to actually say something? If I make a custom sequence with new sound using FacePoser for my map, is that custom sequence saved inside the map file or is it a seperate file that I have to zip with my map?
Please... I'm desperate...
Better yet: Is there a good, detailed scripted sentence tutorial somewhere around the net?

I seem to have this new bug in the FacePoser...
Programming error: CMaterial System :: Bind NULL material
What does that mean? Aside from these strange messages I get from the output window, I also get this program crashing bug everytime I load a new model! What the heck is going on here?!

i personally don't know but we have some sharp cookies around here, perhaps one of them can assist.
try to keep the comments/questions one to a topic though, if something new crops up, start a new thread, but if its all-in-one dilemma, one thread will do.

Their was that stint on Warcraft... but thats over!
I searched everywhere in this site for a scripted sentence tutorial but I haven't found a single thing. I just wish someone could help me here! Maybe I will ask Fishy... but my problem isn't necessarily about the models... But I'll try.
In the mean time, this is my new problem:
How come when I made a new sentences.txt with new "sentences" for NPCs like barney to say stuff from the single-player game, when I load HL2 the sounds just won't work?
I mean, the NPCs just stand there despite the fact that I have a complete set of triggers to activate my custom scripted_sentence and I typed in the correct path of the wav in the sentences.txt? I placed the sentences.txt on the scripts folder on the HL2 directory... What am I doing wrong??
Someone please help!

i dunno about the sentences either, funny, i see you are not the only one too, because i see at least one other in recent history. :sad:
you may be the lucky individual whom came up with a new problem, and the answer may be slow in coming.

There are other sentences_*.txt files you can use in some of the GCFs, get the sentence names from that.
