In the 'outputs' for a func_button, I find I can't put select anything
in 'my outputs named' field. I think the reason might be the icon in
the bottom left being crossed out by a red bar. Does anyone know how to
fix this?

Dont really know what your talking about, but the arrow in the bottom just signifies that an output isnt set up correctly (just a handy feture that hammer has to show if all your enitys are set up correctly).

Do outputs work properly for other entities? Try refreshing the SDK
content. Updates have screwed up various things in Hammer for me, so
maybe the most recent update corrupted something.

Managed to get it working. I used the wrong global name, instead of just the name, making it invalid.
