So I have recently grown addicted to CS:S and have decided to try my hand at mapping for it, the only problem is that I need a few models from other CS:S maps to use in my map. This sounds like an easy fix except that either the SDK's model viewer is idiotic or I am. By this I mean that I can't seem to get it to browse to the proper folder to get at the other models. I tried the drop-down box and selected cstrike from the "mod filter" categories, but it didn't change my selection of models.
So the question is: Do I need to extract the models from the .gcf for CS:S to have access to these models or is there something I am missing concerning the model previewer?
Now remember kids. Asking questions is a good way to get censored by the government.

In hammer, place a model prop on your floor, and then select it and properties, there is a select model area, browse the models select one before clicking ok make sure the prop type is set to the models prop type, static/physic/dynamic. and there ya go.
