I have really been into watching Half-Life videos because I (at least for now) have no bandwidth limits at certain times.

So does anyone have suggestions of videos related to half-life (preferably funny videos) and also I would prefer it if they are part of a series?

So far I have watched Gman Squad, some of HL blind play, and currently watching Freeman's Mind.

Any other great vidoes? Thanks!

There is a utube video of a fella playing the entire HL1 game in like half an hour or somesuch.
It is a awe inspiring video. Course, the movement made me throw up but, that too was memorable.

You have to watch it at least once. Its simply, infuckingcredible.

The best things in life, aren't things.

I really hated that video (Half Life in Half an Hour)

That person really has no life, imagine how many times he had to do it over. And it's not even fun to do it in the first place.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Here are some that I recommend:

I watched a few blind LP's of HL and definitely found this to be the best and funniest one of all.

A very nice trailer

Just happened to find this interesting video about Houndeyes

And finally I really recommend this live action video of Portal to Black Mesa

I have been watching a lot of those too, and I like it a lot! I'll probably check out those other videos tonight.

Those videos were excellent. I never knew that about the houndeyes. Thanks!

Keep the ideas coming. They've all been great so far!

In all these years I never knew that either, can't believe there are still things in that game that I didn't know about :D

My Flash Player seems to freeze my browser currently, so I can't send you the links, but there were two other videos of the same user.

One was about the AI of the Bullsquid (about another fact I didn't know about)
And the other was about the AI of the roaches, who are apparently far more intelligent than I thought they are.

I recognize the sound differences, but I don't think you encounter that many packs of these things in the game to really recognize this ... or you end up killing them as they approach which isn't usually in packs.

Also ... they could have at least mentioned that their numbers are an average (hopefully) Otherwise, the math is pretty off.

Wouldn't the roaches use some sort of flock algorithm with modifiers for where the player is? (That's what it looks like they're doing anyway.)
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

What is that exactly? :scared:

And the roaches also seem to be afraid of the light when you turn the light switch on in a dark room, and they also react to food (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elwb2lV88hM)

Flock algorithm is where you have a bunch of data points where they have some parameters, they always have to stay within a certain range (they do this by moving) and they can't touch. So they "like" staying a certain distance away.

Basically the algorithm does a lot of relational adjustments and the end result looks like birds flocking. You can apply lots of modifications to it to make it behave how you want. But that's the basic idea.

Specific implementations of it are usually referred to as "boids"
