Hey, guys. If people are still lurking about, come on in here and chat.
This isn't about necessarily video games, mapping, development, or any of that.

How has everyone been doing?
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Hey Crono, how have you been? Long time no talk.

Other than having ended this schoolyear with an average score of 54,9% for my Cisco tests this year, being 0,01% too low for a point on my gradelist, I'm doing pretty good. I'm still going to graduate anyway fortunately.

What have you been up to?

I'm OK. Things haven't been lining up, so that sucks.
Still trying to work on projects. Maybe something will finally come of it :p

Finishing school, congratulations. It doesn't matter if you're the top or bottom ... you're finishing. I can't even explain how much of a struggle it was for me to finish my university program and to find out after all of that, that no one cares. It's really tough.

I hope things go better for you than they did for me.

I'm down in Los Angeles working for The Rubicon Project as a Infrastructure Systems Engineer. Lots of networking and sys admin work.

I've often wondered how the pit crew is doing these days. I've not really had the time to pick up mapping or gaming. Good news is the Unreal Tournament 4 is in pre-alpha that ships with their level editor! => https://www.unrealtournament.com/

Fjorn, I have no idea if you've mentioned it before. But it's good you're doing well.

Omegaslayer, sounds like a cool project (though I'm not sure we need more advertising in the world. >_>)

The tools available now are nuts. Both UE4 and Unity are free and have pretty simple to use editors. It works very similarly to old FPS level editors, except you can do whatever you want.

I don't think we're going to see a lot of full makeover mods in the future. Not like we used to. People will just build their own games.

I think now more than ever a solid editing community would be really amazing. Considering that what's happened now is basically the chains are removed.

I'm kinda new to researching on map development, and therefore stumpled across Snarkpit, really wish I knew this site 5 years ago :D

It seems to have had a lot of activity from some time ago, was this the big deal when CS 1.6 was up back in the days? :)

Hey all!

@Jannatul18,
This is a late reply but,..... Welcome!

@FurnicK:
Thanks for joining and making some posts. I'm not sure if you're gonna find any Goldsource mappers still lurking about here. I think there are "thicker" repositories out there with more activity, but I'm at a loss of which ones they are. -Have you browsed our "Links" section?

http://www.snarkpit.net/index.php?s=links

-I'm sure half those sites are gone. But those used to be a good start.

@omegaslayer:
Glad to hear you're doing well! -Also,.... more automated advertising? -I have to admit, it sounds scary. :leper: -Would probably help if I read more on it from the link :P

@Fjorn,
What you studying?

I've been dealing with lots O' life since I graduated uni in early 2012. Finally have my career going doing architecture in Texas, with a careful eye on the games industry. Falling in & out of relationships, and currently enjoying me time. Looking to get back on the hobby horse and churn out some cool stuff. -Though I've been focused on environment art for the last couple years. Been wanting to develop my sketching/and digital painting skillz.
