Here's an FPS that's a bit different than the others - the download size is only 96 kbytes! Nobody has an excuse not to try this one...

http://theprodukkt.com/

(These are the guys who put together the couple 64 kbyte demos you may have seen before. Impressive stuff.)

Whoa , that is hugely impressive for the filesize  The textures alone should be taking up loads more than that sort of space, but I hear they are all procedurally generated rather than stored bmps or anything.

Ditto here. The readme.txt says it requires 512MB of RAM, which is really surprising considering the executable is only 100-200KB (I think).

Yeh, but it is not the size of the executable the matters in this case. Actually because the size of the executable and everything around it (nothing in this case) is so small, it means it has to pull it's resources from like....everywhere.

At least, that's what I think.

Procedurally generated textures and all.

You need DX9, which I can't install on my computer for some reason, so I couldn't play it (had to see it on my flatmates PC). Could that be the reason?

I think it uses some stuff from those higher-end graphics cards (the pixel or vertex shaders or something) and if you don't have the card, it will just not run it. I think compatability is too large to go into the game.

It's pretty interesting, but short, and the weapons fire the same bullets, and the columns are pretty repetitive everywhere. Otherwise it's really neat.

Yep, and it could actually be worth playing if they 'broke the bank' and doubled it to 192kb!

I thought it was a damn cool game actually, especially for 96kb!

Looks so good too, I'd say almost as good as HL2
