I'll be damned if I'm gonna wait in line that long.

Its an RTS, looked pretty cool from watching my flatmate play a couple
of times, and he enjoyed it enough to be very hyped up about its
impending sequel.

decent to play.. just lacked the "x" factor. worth a look if you can be
bothered to wait for the download

Strangely, I have been blessed with a subscriber account, though I never actually put up the money... Think I might download and have a look.

No no ... you don't have to pay to subscribe ... look again, there's
free membership too. (you'll have to wait in line before you can
download the file, but that's not a big problem, aye ?)

I opted for the HUGE 600 mb dl containing both the original game and the mp demo for gc2. Sadly the demo didn't work because my gfx card is whack. The original game is actually pretty decent tho. Don't get me wrong its no starcraft, but its not bad either. Sort of reminds me of the game syndicate... in space. The multiplayer aspect seemed kinda shallow but the single player missions are fairly entertaining. I'll put it this way: it's definately some of the best legal freeware I've ever gotten.
