Opinion, based on moral and unscientific conclusions (based from the Bible, for the moral oh you atheists out there).
Scorning opinions of "drugs" are 99% misinformed. I could probably guarantee that as fact as well.
I'd wager theres hardly any accidents when drivers are UTI, (they drive
a LOT slower - not for safety purposes, because theyre DUI). spacial
awareness is not affected, like alcohol ( quote, unquote - regulated,
legal drug ). speed perception is not affected to detrimental effect
(not too slow, and not too fast. drunken bodies would put the foot down
because of the "fall over and collapse" nature of their motor skills.
stoned drivers would pootle along at obscenely slow speeds.
please read and educate yourself on the facts before entering a
reasoned ( and self aware ) debate about drugs. otherwise it always
will come off as a moral highground.
the moral highground is the stupidest place to be in any issue, of any
contention. for morals are based on a religion (in westernised
countries) conceived about 2000 years ago ,and disregard ENTIRELY other
spiritualities and opinions through god fearing.

disclaimer, again - this isnt an attack on religion it is the truth*<br style="font-style: italic;">

Stoned drivers not impaired? Bulls**t. Regardless if they drive slower, stoned drivers have impaired perception, judgement, and rection times and are a hazard to everyone else on the road. It is also unsafe to drive really slow, especially on highways and such.

drugs are bad mmkay?
actually i'd probably accept pot if it weren't for the fact that I'm not going to sit around smoking a bowl for four hours before feeling anything
As for all nighters, I used to pull them all the time, sometimes just for fun. These days I just can't stay up past morning anymore.

You can disagree, but I smoke pot all the time. The first 2 or 3 times nothing really happens, but after that it takes maybe 15 minutes before you are blitzed.
Besides, you don't do pot alone, you do it with a group of friends. There, now you converse during that boring 15 minutes.
As for the shrooms, a peanut butter sandwich is the way to go. I'm sure Gwil can back that up

I also don't understand how it could take more than 2 minutes to get stoned, my friends have always done it lickety split bam before you hit the ground fat mama Joe.

you've proved my point. if someone starts smoking pot for the first time, its going to take them a bit to get high, whereas a stoner will get high almost immediately. i'm not going to bother reducing my tolerance just to get cottonmouth.

Don't forget the munchies and the urge to sleep.
It takes no time at all if you've got a bong. Takes a bit more time if you have a joint since they burn at the same speed as cigarettes.

How about chewing on the stuff? Yes, I know, you don't get as much bang-for-your-buck, but it's damn fast and doesn't break your lungs.

I had a brilliant post, but it got obliterated when the site went down. So I'll just agree with Yak: Drugs are bad mmkay?
Actually though, your own statement "proves" that pot has permanent side effects. If you get high more easily when you smoke regularly, that indicates a lasting change in neurological function and/or brain chemistry. You can't know what the other lasting side effects there may be.
My personal opinion from observation is that stoners take a major hit in their coordination. Not something I'm willing to give up, or something that is conducive to driving a car.

Every substance changes tolerance levels. From sugar to heroin.
But I don't drive while stoned, and I won't when I get my license to drive sober.
