i've been up 3 hours working on this old packard bell.. i know the feeling.. i swear these old comps are harder to fix than the new ones

but, i am currently installing win98SE

it was running at 75MHZ and had 16 megs ram running win95
its now running at 133MHZ has 96 megs ram and running (soon) win98

That's about right. But the main reason would be because it's hard to find information you need ... and you're still learning.

actually, those are default settings.. i had 3, 133mhz microprocessors.. and the motherboard supports those extremes.. its range was 75-133.

Don't some older mobo's have manual overclocking via jumpers?

some i suppose, but since i don't advocate overclocking, i really don't know for sure..

this particular mobo, had switches, not jumperblocks.. they served the same purpose though..

Pretty much all motherboards before the P3 came out had jumpers for setting the FSB at least. Earlier ones had jumpers for multiplier, frequency, memory timing, etc. Look on a 486 motherboard, there's more jumpers than you can shake a stick at

That guy totally needs a comma.

I thought it said "Tron my shirt, bitch" at first; I was like, "what?". Took a closer look to see the lower '_' on the 'I'.

i love how that pic has been altered.. its great.. had me peeing again (course being wet seems almost second nature now)

to be honest though, i have met very few females who are proud of the equal rights marches of old, damned few even mention them cause of the shame.. but those who do curse them for ruining a good thing.. these are their words, not mine i swear..

to tell the truth, i feel women should be treated 100% equal..but thats another story (someday i will have to tell you how women still get preferential treatment in child custody cases and abortion hearings) :/

i was here... days after some version..

i remember a blue on white version.. i remember www.PHL.com/snarkpit version.. i remember when we could still find things to suggest to improve the site.. sadly we have covered most all of them..

if i have 10% of the total, who's fault is that? surely not mine.
