I've seen in some maps, people have curved brushes, like for a corner of a hallway, or a tunnel. How do you do that?

a good place to start, would be searching the HL1 tutorial section on the subject.
architecture tutorial are mostly compatable from HL1 to HL2

Use the clipping tool ( second last pic button),
or
To make it properly use a few brushes and then vertex manipulate them into shape. I recommend having a cylinder there to guide you. delete afterwards!
By the way vertex manipulation is the last pic button (not as complicated as it sounds, just drag points to change the shape :smile: ). Making the brushes of the curve a Func_detail would be a good idea (Ctrl + T) then choose it from the drop down menu).

Clipping, and vertex tool are good for this, but do a search first.
