After playing 'Final Fantasy 9 again at a friends house I happened to look it up and found out that it was coming out on the PC.
I noticed that they have made it for PC now with slightly improved graphics but i own it already on the PS1.
The problem is that the first disc is scratched and freezes everytime I get to a certain bit so to save me buying it again I wanted to download it for free off a website.
I searched and searched and could not find anything!
Thats where you guys come in... I need to download the PC version of 'Final Fantasy 9' and I was hoping that you guys knew a place that I can download it!
Currently I have searched on Google, Shareaza, Kazaa ++ and Bittorrent.

Or buy it for the PC, as it's a different version to the PSX edition.
Also, downloading products like this is illegal! Huzzah! So no, don't give out any links.

Well I understand by what your saying but I remember that I constantly tried to clean it but failed miserably and besides I hardly play on the PS1 anymore and was foolish to not play games on the PC a long time ago :S
It's better graphics which is a goodside
Edit*
How can I recover the CD data

dunno about your fair land, but we have stores that specialize in these forms of game play. they will usually buff the disk for nothing, just because you show an interest in another game they have.
also, wal-marts has portable buffers on sale, but i cannot promise how well they work.
i personally have used a liquid polymer that you apply and allow to dry. after which you rub the access off and have had pretty fair success recovering data enough to burn a new disk.

The better question is why would you want to play that Piece of S***?
Crono will argue otherwise, but IMO 8 and 7 are far better. I guess the
reason why i never like 9 was because of its impossible to understand
card game  , and crappy "skill" system (I mean 2 ap for every monter
you fight! Coomn raise it up as you prgress so we can level up our
skills or abilites!)
But yes just contact the place you bought it (or squaresoft). Funny you
mention a scratched disk, because I had the same problem with my PS
version....took it back to software etc. (now gamestop) and they
replaced it free of charge  . Good luck with your game!

Actually, I don't think downloading a copy is at all illegal if you have the original version anyway- the same rules apply to other emulators, and anything else would just sound like Sony trying to take the laws into their own hands (are there any PS2 emulators around?)
And yes, 'buffing' your CD should work- in most cases it's just scratches on the protective surface, and not actual damage to the data layers, that prevent a CD from being readable.

He had the original on Playstation, not PC  It's still technically
illegal, you can use copies provided it was a backup off a disk you
bought originally I think.
Either way i was trying to avoid links to torrent sites etc being posted  Si badd!!11

Be warned with ePSXe though; it's a bitch to run FF9 on it. There are
guides to help fix this, but I'm sure you know how to use google, so I
can't be arsed finding them for you.

FF9 hurts. I don't think I've seen a game with more uninspiring and
pointless side-quests which are already unclear enough. I really wish
it had stuck with the FF8 card game...of which I wish they had released
the physical cards in NA.

I liked FF9 WAY more then 8. Although, they're both a couple discs too long.

Well I took the advice of downloading an emulator although I have had some problems setting it up and had help from a nice guy on msn.
Thanks for all the help anyway and I licked my disc until it was clean as clean can be!

Hell there are more problems for FF9 than anything else!
Anyway I had an idea to fix it
Basically I opened the scratched disc on my computer and extracted the ISO files and now I am going to burn them onto a disc and hopefully that should work :/
I don't need a special disc do I?

It seems everyone else just sucks. Since I'm running 1.6 with no problems with any games.
I wonder why everyone has problems with many games when I get them working just fine
Habboi, don't bother re-burning the game. If you do that, you'd have to swap on a playstation and if you're doing it for this emulator, it's kind of pointless, since you can load the image to play (which runs faster).
Did you configure the video and bios properly? (important).

I'm going to try this out, I've got ePSX and the original FF9 discs...we'll see what happens on my machine.
[edit] Got it to work just fine. The game ran at about 140fps and I had
to manually cap it at 60fps. Nothing like the intro song in about 10
seconds.

Why does one cmd prompt say it's a PAL CD, the other NTSC? You have to change the settings, not just assign the bios and such.

I think that is because I accidently put a PC game in their :S
Anyway I am still having this problem where all I get is a black screen and I read that this is because the CD is protected and that I need a patch to get it working but all patches I have downloaded do nothing! and I ticked the box that says use PPF files!
Any clues? There must be an expert around here somewhere!
I suppose I should post on the actual programs site because they ought to know the answer

There's no need for a patch.
Show the configuration for your bios and video. Gorb or I can cross reference taking that we're the only people on the planet who know how to use this program
Try another game. Oh and by the way "ESC" pauses the game and returns you to normal ePSX emulator (where you can do whatever, except configure, because a game is running)

Ok I will post them soon and I tested other games which work perfectly!
Any ideas why?
Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.75
Pete's Dsound Audio Driver 1.15
Internal ePSXe W2K CDR
Internal ePSXe NULL NET
Settings are fine...

Ok by some miracle I managed to finally got the emulator to work for FF9!
Now the only problem I have is that it is hugely SLOW!
I read that running off the CD makes it slow however using ISO is much better!
If this is correct how may I extract this as when I insert the CD, my computer opens up a folder with FF9.IMG inside. Might this be the ISO?

No. Don't you know how to make an image of a cd? That's what an ISO is. I believe you can use winrar to make one, but don't hold me to that.
You should check your FPS settings and make sure they're not too low. Put a cap at about 60 and it should run fine. (If you don't cap it, they'll run upwards of 200 and console games don't have the failsafe computer games have, because they were meant for one and only one machine!)

Same here, mine was at 200 ... ran a little fast. However, the audio synced up just fine ... it was just fast too.

Thanks a lot...
When I changed it to 30 frames it worked perfect so thanks in advance!
The sound is buggy though :/
It seems I have a new problem everyday!
I use pete's plugins and the sound is buggy e.g. sounds are not the same as actual game on PS1...
The sound sometimes does'nt end e.g. I hear this urrrrrr noise over and over until I pause it and unpause!

I'm running "ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2" sound and it works fine. I don't remember if that's the default or not though.

Thanks Gorbachev cause your Sound driver worked perfectly!
I also managed to get to the 2nd CD now and thus no more scratches and I can finally play without any problems!
Thanks All!
