I'd go for having more polys... as for the forums- they seem to have died alot since the change of URL.
[edit]- ah I thought that was a model! You should make it one... use export function to dxf then give it to a modeller to compile.

Hmm. You seem to know your planes (obviously!) so I would recomend doing a google image search for the plane that you have made -- if you converted it into a model, you could probably just use the images found off of the internet, and line up the polygons to the images. Maybe.

I've never flown anything other than a ZLIN 726 but I think that the
shape of the airframe is a pretty strange, the wings looking a tad to
long for the fuselage .I may be wrong since i've never seen a Cessna in
reality. Then again...

So who wants to explain this model business. Is it the same thing
as milkshape 3D was for HL1? Not that I really got into models in
the first place.
[edit]Andrei, it may just be the camera angle. The shape of the
prefab is just about identical to the real aircraft. Granted,
there are some differences, and lakc of curvature, due to the
limitations of both Hammer, and of myself.

Sort of. As you can see, on the SP's title page, there is a tutorial for HL2 Qc. files -- I would recomend reading those. As far making the polygons goes, I would say it's exactly the same. You would then export the model to a HL2 smd, and then I'm pretty much in the dark. Though it appears it isn't to different from HL1.
A good person to ask might be Reno -- he really seems to be into modeling
Edit: And yes, definitely talk to Fishy, who, as Orph has said, really is the "Top Dog" around here.

ATM Fishy seems to be "TOP DOG".. I would shoot him an inquiry as well.

Yea I saw that image on Google but didnt think of it. I'll go
exploring more of this modeling thingy. I dont have much
experience with Milkshape, more just I made a lamp post once and that
was it. Didnt texture it either, just built it. I'll go
have some fun and we'll see how things turn out.
On that matter, why dont we just make the entire level a model? lol

Umm, how do I import the prefab into Milkshape? Since Milkshape only reads its own files...

On hammer (atleast for 2.1 up to 3.5 that I can be sure of) you should something, under "FILE" labled Export to .dxf. It converts you map (prefab) into a format that allows you to view it in Milkshape, but not edit it. You could use your plane simply as a template at that point.
The whole point of that export feature is if you want to animate a scientist, or something, to do an animation involving geometry in your level.
I'm not 100 percent sure though -- give it a shot and see what it does

Yea, milkshape has it's own filetype. I've tryed opening the .DXF file as such but it didnt work.
