I wasn't really able to search, because I don't really know what the
problem I am talking about is called. I am sorry if this has been
covered.

Somehow I have accidently applied a bright red mask on some of my
textures, so it shows up whenever I select them. This would be fine,
except for the fact that its making texturing those blocks difficult,
and I don't know how to turn the red mask off. I'm sure there is a
simple answer to this, and I would greatly appreciate it if someone
provided me with one.

Heres a picture of what it looks like

EDIT: to be more specific, the bright red mask (as opposed to the
normal red mask) will not let me to the quick texture application (that
is selecting another texture and copying it over with the right mouse
button.)

Click the "Hide Mask" button on the Texture Application panel (while the face is selected, of course)

Use the Wiki! It's good for you!

Yeah, but not the bright red.

This is how it should look

What is the texture you have selected? Maybe its just a red texture...

No, this happened to me once before. The texture stays red even
when you don't select it right? It was a long time ago, so maybe
I'm remembering incorrectly, but I think that's how it happened with
me. And when you select it, it gets even more red.

Anyways, it was really annoying, and I think it's just a Hammer error, so I ended up deleting the brush and doing it over.

It's the only way I found to solve the problem

No, there is an easier way than deleting the brush.

Just select the tool that lets you put different texture on different faces, Face editor I think its called. Then select the face that keeps turing up red and unselect by selecting a different face. That should get rid of the red mask.

There is actually a bug with selecting faces and the red mask - I've experienced it myself several times. Doesn't happen very often, but sometimes the red mask will not be removed from a face when selecting another face (there are then two highlighted faces) or even exiting the texture application tool altogether.

To sort it out I exit the texture application tool, select the brush (with the red mask still on one of its faces) then deselect it (esc) or select any other brush. No need to delete and recreate the brush. Works for me anyway.

In my case the only time a face stays softly-red masked (like in your
second screen), is when i texture it (even shift/scale/rotate it a bit)
and then doing undo/control-z. To stop it from being soft-red masked,
just switch texture and switch back.
