Is there a way to have an implosion for hl2? I've tried using negative
values for the magnitude in env_explosions, and env_physexplosion
entities, but that didn't do it. Please help!

I don't think its possible with the given entities. I couldn't even think of a way to do it with mutliple entities.

Yeah, what is your objective, because if you want to just have something collapse into itself, I'm sure there is a way to do it.

I would like to have just the effect of ragdoll bodies and func_physboxes coming into one spot repeatedly.

So more like a gravity well? You want all things around the point to be pulled into the center?

Still need to be a bit more clear.

you could have it all scripted and have the phyboxes and ragdolls follow path_tracks at high speed to a common point. but its not the best looking option but the only one i can suggest.
Bullet Control: $5000 for a bullet.

That's right, like a black hole or something that sucks all the moveable objects around it to the center.

like a 360 degree arch, with each piece made into a push brush that pushes towards the middle. you could even have another 360 arch outside the first, but with a weaker push.

doesn't sound like a very good way to go about it though.

I am actually doing this exact same effect for my contest map... wierd. You should all get to see it all soon.

indeed.

Well I've been fooling around, and trigger_push work quite well though
the black hole wont pull in heavy objects. To fix this I tryed
useing a trigger_vphysics and dropping drag down to 5%, but that didn't
work, next I'm going to try and kill the gravity all together, that
should do it.

I have 5 push volumes, four that push north, west, south, east, and one
that fits inside them pushing down. You could place lesser push
entities around the outside to give the effect of a soft pull, but I
dont think its worth it.

I cant, however, get ragdolls to work. Dead bodys are 100% client
side and they will not move, period. Though, ragdoll matress or
boxes will work.

give me another day and I'll post my map.

Awesome! I think I'm going to differ from my original plan because it
just wouldn't work. I was trying to get it so dead bodies, as well as a
bunch of large objects, crash into each other in the air a whole lot.
Instead I'm using 6 trigger_pushes (Up,down,N,E,S,W respectivley) to
push towards the center and just suspend the player alive in the
middle... that is until the pointy thingys beat him to death. Here's
some pics:

Implosion2

Unfortunately this is pretty tough on the engine, so I made it so it
can be turned on and off as needed while you do other things in the map.

Sorry about the blank post, I saw something and I guess I really rely on editing and deleting my post. My originals are always packed full of typos and errors. :crate:

It only works once. The magnet isn't constantly on so they only move the one time after they spawn.

Edit: The ragdolls only move once after they spawn (when the map starts) if the magnet is set to start on.

I had it set to off, and wasn't able to toggle it on.
