Well, im still jet lagged from coming back from japan, so heres my day:

sleep through church
go to s**tty resturant with my half-dead grandmother
find 6 hairs in my T-BONE steak. get another one.
come home, just to leave and help some weaklings load up a treadmill and a bunch of other crap, about an hour away.
come home, get a bunch of cool underwear and a pen drive(128).
find out thats all im doing today. get pissed off. almost fall asleep.
post this.

well, yeah, so its not a great day. but im 17.

id like to take this chance just to thank everyone in the snarkpit.net community. all the resources provided here; knowledge, tutorials, and cool people; have proved invaluable in my development as a mapper and game developer. i hope to remain a part of this community, and continue to learn and build relationships with all those cool people out... here.

THANKS!

Aye, in America the 17th birthday is useless, no new rights. 16/18/21 are the keepers... happy birthday!

So, uh, it was pretty much a 17th birthday then. They could've at least gotten you a 1Gig pen drive. Cheapos! JK.

Happy birthday.

From your reaction, I am guessing that you:
  • were raised in a religious environment, although not too strict
  • are single
  • think you're pretty smart, and may be.
  • are depressed because life is a boring routine that never ends and you can't seem to break free because everyone is holding you back, and you can't seem to get enough money to just pack up and leave.
  • you like the free meals at home, hair-free steaks.
Am I right?
I tried sniffing coke, but the ice cubes kept getting stuck in my nose.

Happy birthda ishbog.

No wise-as-talking today. Take your time. enjoy. I can't even remember what I have done on my last..... let me think... 5 BDays.

Don't think of it as some kind of special day that needs to be celebrated at all costs.

Its just a day you were borm haphazardly.

Enjoy. Even if you're doing nothing at all. Even doing nothing is enjoyable.

You forgot 25!

That's when you can rent a car.

At 23 you get an insurance price cut (almost half), but you get one of those at 21 too.

Oh and at 17 you can goto R-rated movies without getting hassled. At 21 you can take anyone you want to an R-rated movie. Not that that's really enforced anymore.

[edit]
Madedog:

16: legal age to get a drivers license. (You have to have a permit license for a year before hand though, doesn't matter the age) This is also the first legal age you can be employed at.

18: Considered a legal adult. Get the right to Vote. No longer have to take the written portion of a drivers license test. Can legally buy cigarettes. Can join the armed forces.

21: Can legally drink ( ). Can take anyone into an R-rated movie. Get lower insurance. ACTUALLY become a legal adult, before 21 there are some laws that still put you under your parents custody.

I know there's more.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

Happy BDay from me, too

As Crapceeper, I can't remember anything special from my previous ones
neither... they were just dull ones. Well... I guess 18 and 50 are the
only worthwhile in Estonia to look for... 1 more year for me then I
guess..

Hugh, what's the 16 in America all about? And I guess there is a lot
difference of 18 in America than other countries? And what the hell is
21 about? Can you tell me what you can do when you reach specific ages?

I think tha age limit to join the army is 16. My friend joined the army reserves when he was 17. I think they can only send you to war if you are 18. Now hes 19 and is in Iraq )-:.

Check Crono's list if you didn't see it, Madedog

Nice list, Crono. The R-rated movie crap depends on the movie,
'cause I tried taking a 16-year old to Dawn of the Dead when I was a
spry 17 and they wanted her ID too, bastards. They didn't check me at any other one.

That's because you have to be 21. It's all retarded anyway, but the 25 thing is actually ridiculous. It could be the day before your 25th birthday and they still wont let you rent a car, you have to wait until midnight. (or get someone else's signature of course.)

Obviously, you can be in a reserve or something like that, since they can pay for your schooling and once you're 18 you get to go fight. It is 18 though if you just want to get on a bus and join the army and goto boot camp. The air-force and things are a little different, since they put you through school at the same time.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.
