Hi everybody!
If your'e old in theese forums you know i've said it before, and I say
it again. Computers are defenetly capable of generating random maps,
and especialy for HL2. My release of HL2rmc (Half-Life 2 random map
creator) 0.9.34b on Half-Life 2 long times go was recently dropped on
HL2files as featured media and I got a LOT of downloads and a LOT of
feedback. People are burning for the idea, but the RMC in it's current
state was to old/buggy/ugly. It was simply bad.
I've set the project on track again with
entirely new coding skills, ideas and resorces I'm planning it to be
everything the old version was not, and I will call the new version the
1.0
You can
read more about the 1.0 progress here.
And
here's a
screenshot from the Alpha GUI. Only for your pleasure.
However, due to the way this program works, with the smallest component a map can be divided into: Parts.
It will need many parts and you can help making them. I bet you have a
million small little testmaps that you never cared to finnished. Well a
part is so small, it can be finnished within a day.
A part can nearly be as small as a closet and as big as a city block,
and you will get full credits for it. I've already completed the new
part compiler for the 1.0 and the alpha is up and running but not
distributed yet due to the fact that i'm not done with the translink
between HL2rmc and the compiler.
If you want to help making parts
here's a
custom FGD and a tutorial.
"Our" main site is
here: hl2rmc.hl2files.com/.
Expected release of 1.0 is next week - christmas The later is more probable. ;P
God got tired waiting all sunday for the world to compile and finaly had it.
On the Eight day, god created func_details, and he saw that it was fast.
