Out of these strategy games, which one would you rather play online?

Love Dawn Of War, so good. So well made too, but because its thier first RTS its got a few problems in it (such as the perfect movement of a unit, it doesn't always go where you click, sometimes 10m below or whatever).

I really liked Dawn of War, but hated it's settings (me not likes Chaos, skulls and deamonic stuff).

So, I think I'd go for CnC:ZH, or Broodwar. That was a fine game indeed.

I really like Dawn of War.

I grew up with roleplaying games and Warhammer. There is a certain
feeling to finally see all the fantasy figures run around at the
battlefield instead of being stiff plastic soldiers.

Zero-hour all the way, although it's gameplay is much more simplistic than EE's or AOE's.

And Broodwar is an expansion for Starcraft. I envy your ignorance.

True. That's a reason I still haven't found the RTS online game. They play either too long due to the many many options and slow gameplay, or too fast and simplistic due to the few options. Another problem I have with RTS is the lack of control. It's not with the keys or anything, it's the fact that I can only focus on one point at a given time. With the current micromanagement requirements of most units in most games, that's a real bugger. I like the units to have some more intelligence of their own, like falling back when under fire or charging, even when they can't see their enemy. Now, they don't, and that makes them feel so stupid...

I like RTS, but I see many areas for improvements. Then again, it depends on what a game is aiming for so there's different approaches to the genre, but I still haven't found my real game there, even though I like RTS a lot.

What I really can't stand are 3D RTS games. It's bad enough that the
(cheating) AI is kicking my arse, I don't need to be bothered with the
camera. Especially if it' s poorly implemented like E2150's. That's the
reason I uninstalled the game after only 2 hours of play. Generals'
camera, on the other hand, is, I say, well implemented since you can
easily finish the game without laying a finger on it's controls. I also
liked the points system; it made it feel a bit like an
RPG, but without that sappy hero and level-up system.

I voted Empire Earth for its shear variety and gameplay. Also, the pop limit is extremely high.

Brood War (Star Craft) is one of the most popular RTS games ever created, revolutionizing the genre, and has also been an essential part of the world cyber games championship from the very beginning.

It also achieved eighth place in the top 100 game of all time. :grenade:

I voted Warcraft 3 TFT because I have got a lot of custom map in it and I like to play them.

i have a friend who spent like a month building on the warchasers map

in the end it had a city in the middle tons of extra monsters and all
the heros were custom made and worth using, on of the monsters was a 30
ft tall ghoul that attacked about 3 times a second and did like 70
damage each hit
