Ok, I felt that this deserved its own topic. Basically, if you ever needed a good reason to buy a Playstation 2... you now have one. Guitar Hero is probably the most fun I've had in a game in .... hmm... forever? Seriously, whether you play guitar or not, this game is accessible and super fun. I sit down for 1 song, and end up playing 15 every night..... the world is a brighter place with this game in it, and I am the rock god I always wanted to be.

Anyone here given it a try?

It sound excellent and is something I'd love to pick up, but alas, there's no word of it coming to UK
shores  Gonna pick up Donkey Konga and a couple of sets of bongos at
Christmas though, which is probably about the next best thing.

Finger if your gunna talk about a game at least post 1 screen or something, and explain what it is perhaps?

HOWEVER-

from reading reviews, it seems like a non guitar players song. If you can actually play guitar well then this game is probably a small taste of the real thing. Playing real instruments is imense fun- I'll never give up guitar unless I lose both my hands, in which case I'll just switch permanently to my drumkit!

No, actually, it's f**king impossibly hard if you actually play guitar.

I've played this in the arcade a few times, it's hard. Because, the rythems are played for you and you hit much less than what you need to ... for someone who actually plays guitar that's hard to do. (You're not used to hitting one note ... and having several notes follow it automatically)

I'm sure it's a fun game though once you get past that.
Blame it on Microsoft, God does.

<div style="text-align: justify;">I'm definitely picking up a PS2 after
the next price-drop (hopefully in response to Xbox 360). I loved
playing Guitar Freaks in arcades.

So a guitar game is more of a non-guitar players game? eeeerrrr? I play guitar, and I love it. I immidiately pick it up and know how to play, yet it is still challenging!
Buy it.

I have Taiko Drum Master, sweet game. But I wish they had used the same
songs as the Japanese version and just added on. I played it in the
arcades when I was in Japan, those were good times.

On the subject of guitar games:
Guitar Shred Show is quite a
fun flash (but not worth the effort on slow connections). Still, the
best flash I've seen for a while.
