So, I followed most of the tutorials I could find to make a prop_rotating door. The biggest problem though, is that when I open the door, I cannot go through. I can see through it, just not walk through it, or throw any object through it. Now if I open and close it a few times, I will soon be able to walk through the closed door, but never the open door. I feel like I am missing something simple here.

if your door behaves the way that you say, then you probably are missing something. but only saying that you followed some tutorials, well, it doesn't give people anything to go on.

tell us how you made the door.

Seems the solution is simple then. Put a sign near it that says "Open me 3 or more times before each use"

/me forgoes giggling since no one gets my humor anyway.

awww orph I get it, tee hehe

But here at snarkpit we like to fix problems (or confuse the person asking so much that they leave bleeding from the ears).

I'd guess its a simple problem, if you can snap a screenshot of your door entitie properties with smart edit off and a screen shot of the flags tab.

Also, did you move the origin of the door to the edge of the frame?

Not sure how to move the origin of the door. The tutorials basically said to cut a hole in the wall, the right size, and put a prop_door_rotating in the hole. (and texture it and all) If you have to move the origin of the door, thats probably what I missed, because this is the first I heard of it. ( I read through 6 or 7 different door tutorials, no mention of moving the origin) Anyway, here are the requested shots. Thanks for the help.

images removed.... too dumb to post them, therefore, shouldn't be trying to mod HL2.

you can't link to files on your hard drive, because the rest of the world doesn't have access to it. you need to upload your pics to some webspace, and then link to them there.

anyway, you said that you had to texture the door. this makes no sense, as the prop_door_rotating is a point entity that uses a model, which is already textured.

models/props_doors/door01_dynamic.mdl

it has a bunch of different skins to choose from, so maybe that's what you meant.

i'll wait for the pics to be fixed and try again.

Call me prude or old fashion but I genuinely get concerned when someone links to their hard drive images.
