Taken from Rust site:
"You will need to convert these images to 24-bit compressed TGA, and then also convert them to 8-bit uncompressed BMP format before you can use them with Half-Life."
How do I convert/save my files to 8-bit uncompressed BMP through Adobe Photoshop or Bryce?

i think he was attempting to add to the database, problem is, it must be in the form of a question, at least that my understanding.

he might attempt to edit his post and then see.. i would ask lep to confirm this tho.

wizard, i too have noticed that my photoshop wont save bmpfiles in 8bit format, which is why i keep MSpaint around, you can load images into that then save as in that prog to convert to 8bit.

The first of Gorb's pictures is the super important one. Once that is set, you should be able to save in 8 bit just fine.

Also, the bmp's are only useful for the software people I believe. So it's not too pertinent, you can more or less ignore em these days. With current acceptable r_speed limits, the software people already have a problem. If there's no skymap correctly set up, the game will simply revert to 2desert, which isn't great looking, but software people are hardly concerned about a visual feast.
