This is the same as the other thread. I got some sort of db error when I posted it, and now it seems to be inaccessible.

Anyway, like the title says, this is my tf2 interpretation of the classic tfc map, warpath. It doesn't resembe the original at the first look, but if you play it a few times you'll see that the various open areas around the capture points will all conect to each other the same as it.

Some of the spawns have pre-made invincible sentries guarding them, and most of the health/ammo is available from your team coloured cow.

Enjoy.

Hey fishy.

I don't really know anything about tf2 mapping, I have no idea what textures and props you have available to use or nothin. I just thought I would reply because nobody else seems to be replying.

But yeah, it doesn't look to bad, although I'm not sure. The cliffs seem a bit messy, for example, check out cpc4.jpg. The shadows and texture alignment seem pretty rough. Is that intentional?

It's not intentional, but it's not something that I think is very important to tf2. I'll probably try to smooth the texture alignment out for a final release though.

The only custom content is the model of the big central bridge, which was ripped from a combine bridge and edited a bit. And the cows, of course. They were made for someone else, but I liked them too much not to use them myself.

This looks really good fishy - a lot more soul and life to it than the other version of warpath we've looked at and discussed on Steam in the past. I assume the cows give out health judging by a screenshot? A nifty idea indeed - if covered by a sentry you've essentially got a free dispenser (albeit bar the ammo) for any team securing the area.

Is the layout symmetrical - and have you seen it running anywhere with a full load? Would be nice to see if its managed to conquer some of the problems with "path" cp maps like fastlane and granary, i.e. any half decent team with organisation can steamroll another that hasn't got its wits about it.

Gwil, the cows dispense health and ammo, using one of the obj_entities that got added a couple of updates ago. Red cows will service red players, and blue cows for blue players. There's a couple of them in each of the spawn areas that are associated with the central CP, and one each at CP's 2/4. The rest of the resupply stuff is either normal cabinets or pre-built dispensers.

The map is asymetrical, as per the original. The most players I've seen on it was around 8v8, but no-one really knew the map well enough for any steamrolling. I think a well organized team will be able to do that on any map though.

I recently joined a server playing your last tf2 map, and it was AWESOME! So I have no doubt that eventually I'll find another server hosting this one. Awesome design Fishy; keep up the awesome maps, maybe Valve will include this one in another update!

Hmm, I'm not sure that you will find anyone playing this one, Riven. It got quite a cold reception on fpsb, which seems to be the only place that server admins look for new maps. Now there are too many terrible maps rated higher than it, so it'll be stay buried until at least the next beta release.

maybe getting their arses shot off by a roving engycow will make people remember this one.

Well, that's a shame, however, I did see a server glimpse past my refresh list when looking for an open game, and it was playing Cowpath with a full 32 players on some Texas server I wish I could remember! So, I think someone picked it up; If I see it again, I'll be joining for sure

Keep the awesome maps coming Fishy, It's starting to make me want to get into TF2 mapping.
