Complex cliff faces (faster alternative method)

Make complex rocks without the errors!
Ok first off, just like any cliff, make a big back, preferably wider than it is taller.

Now, using the front view split it up into boxes with the clip tool. The boxes dont have to be even spacing, randomize it up a little.

After that take each square you have and split it diagonally with the clip tool again. You should see many different triangles. Only split the squares in one direction. (Don't make an X, that doubles r_speeds)

Using the top view and vertex manipulation, pull out different sections so that it resembles the picture below:

Now use front view again and drag the points around in random directions. The end result should come out to be something like this:

If you select the clip tool multiple times it changes its mode - from "hack off" everything on the left of the line, to hack off everything on the right of it, to leave both sides.

I can't figure how you didn't "hack off" half of the square by using the clip tool. The clip only seems leave half, and delete the other. Kapeesh?

It seems rather time consuming and difficult to perform on a large scale without creating grievous errors. There are numerous simpler ways to create a similar effect. A innnovative idea though.

Null is not useless at all. Often times rounding errors occur even with perfectly aligned brushes.

NULL would essentially be useless for this, assuming you can align vertices correctly. Anyway, well-written and pretty concise.
