Half-Life: Deathmatch Sector A

Released: July 2001

My largest released map to date and also (of my releases thus far) the most complex. Layout is a bit too loopy, but architecturally I think I got a pretty good recreation of the original Black Mesa feel.

Half-Life: Deathmatch Odin's Guard

Entry for the Snark Pit arena contest.

Half-Life: Deathmatch Faction

Not my favorite map released thus far, but one that I lost motivation to continue. Rather than setting it aside to die on my hard drive, though, I've decided to go ahead and release it.

Half-Life: Deathmatch glas

A large map with many floors seperated by glass and brick. one central frag ladder and a "levitat o vater" can hold 20 players

this was one of my first maps, its visually simple looking but artistic 2.

Half-Life: Deathmatch halo

by ct44
similar to a map in halo hence the name.

10 - 15 players

rockets and pistols only

Half-Life: Deathmatch RainMetal

From the moment onward I first saw a rain tutorial for Half-Life I've wanted to create a map, which would utilize this effect. The very first rain tutorial I read used an env_beam entity to create the rain. The method was slow to implement and very hard on the entity budget. Later on I came across a different kind of rain tutorial which used func_conveyors instead of env_beams. Three years have passed since I first read that tutorial and now I've finally begun to make that Half-Life map with rain in it... Due to the fact that I'm currently serving in finnish army it might take a while for me to finish this map, but all in all I'm determined to get it done.

Update: new pictures.

Missed the map competition, but now it is getting all souped up to end my HL1 mapping days :P

Got nice swamps outside and a varied theme that you should like... Screens will come soon after I return from holiday.

Half-Life: Deathmatch Castle (working title)

EDIT: Might retake this theme as an HL2 map, but I doubt it would be for a while yet.

Felt in the mood to do some mapping, so cracked open hammer and started playing around with a castle sort of location set in a valley. Pretty early shots but they give a fair idea of what to expect I believe.

EDIT: May retake this theme for an AG2 map - lots of vertical action for crazy gauss jumping combat :)

A simple map I'm playing around with, based around the interior style of my old map Forsaken. Planning on achieving a boot_camp esque playing style, with lots of vertical gameplay. Visuals are minimalist but kind of pleasing regardless, I'm getting a bit of an ocean liner feel from them, though concrete ocean liners tend to be a little rare these days ;)

Please note this is HUGELY work in progress, and this area is still quite incomplete. I am interested in hearing thoughts on the visual style though, as I plan on keeping it quite consistant throughout.
