yeh i know about the ladder thing, i did all i can to make it right...but it doesnt work, i would fix it later, but regarding the flickering texture, i dont use any of the model texture, for the broken tunnel, i used Dirt as a texture, but it still flicker....
The flickering texture is probably due to you using a texture meant for
a model. Don't use any textures with the "model/" or "prop/" prefix.
There is a tutorial on this very site about how to make ladders in
HL2DM.

He he, in the pic with the exit sign it looks like the exit is the window! Suicidal-urge-me-do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First off, I received so many Pm's from people, that the ones I want to keep were being threatened with auto deletion, so... I accidentally deleted some I may have wanted. I cannot recall which people asked for private and which public so I am chancing it with all public critiques today. Since public critiques give you the most feedback in the long run, I feel its the safest course of action. If by some small chance, someone picks on a map, because its n00b or some such, be forewarned, I will not be happy and would consider the attaching party to not get any future critique's from my camp.
anywho's onward and upward.
The first thing I noticed was the abundance of items this map contains. If it reaches fruition, I can guarantee you will not run short of supplies. I do however feel that the tight construction will not bode well with the abundance of thrown items. Some sort of a limit might be considered on stuff to be hurled about.
That work light, nice addition. but something is either not set correctly, or my hardware couldn't quite cope. As will be illustrated with the next few screen shots, the light tended to flicker on/off, but for all intents of purpose, the light was on the full time. The light needs addressed to see why its doing this.
This ceiling also contained some sort of a lighting issue, why I have no idea, but it flickered from bright to normal as i walked beneath it.
These stairs, were just short of fully contacting the wall. The floor as well seemed to have a wall texture on it. The bricks looked odd when matched against the stair steps.
Misalignments and if you look close, the glowing ceiling seems to tell me the solids were overlapped. Not a good sign from a construction standpoint.
That light fixture, it needs to be raised, i got hung on it as i walked along the wall.
This wall has a clip node, I got hung on invisible air as i turned to look behind me.
Ladder is non functional
Nice touch, the image doesn't show it clearly, but the steam/smoke looked cool
This area, nice ambush from above location. the items tended to trip me however. There seems to be no hole big enough to drop them out through either.
Notice cross hair's. The wall is to short, it needs to either be raised to block the outside, or you could lower it and add windows.
I honestly cannot recall why I took this shot. But i can assure you there was a reason. Look for it when you return next time
slaps forehead NOW I REMEMBER!.. The ceiling, notice its now bright. reference the last image to see what I mean.
Doorway is much to narrow, room beyond is a dead end as well. Not a good combination.
Please do not ask, I do not know what is wrong with the textures here.
To many items. To little space.
See the cross hairs, a 357 fell through the floor.. somehow :/
Nice courtyard, I dunno why its here, but its nice.
All in all, a nice 1st creation, lets hope it turns out a nice 1st release as well. Work on some of the things I mentioned, and lets hope someone notices some things i did not as well.
Good 1st attempt
