Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_ardennes

Beta
So far its a rather small section of a town on the edge of the Ardennes forests near Bastogne. I haven't decided objectives yet as I only started the other day, but I do have most of the layout decided.

The grave yard still needs work, and this section isn't quite finished yet. The R's are about 800w_poly at this point.

At this point I'm not sure whether to complete it for DOD or make it for DOD: Source. Anyway, tell me what you think so far from.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_brecourt

Beta
This is a map I just started today set around the assault on the Brecourt Manor artillery installation, well known as the focus of the second Band of Brothers episode, Day of Days (map name pending).

Anyone who plays DOD will probably be wondering why I'm doing this map, as just recently a map of the same theme has been circulating. If you have played the map then I needn't explain myself. To be perfectly frank it is a gaudy, poorly constructed, poorly researched, poorly textured monstrosity of a map, doing little credit to Band of Brothers, the actual location or the men who fought there.

Hence my map, which will attempt to 'right' the wrongs, by replicating as accurately as possible not only the Band of Brothers episode, but the actual historical data.

Here are some preliminary screens of the first two guns and the beginning of the installation. The actual installation was located in one long field, but to allow for R's I have divided the field in two. This is still a work in progress, but I am very pleased with how it looks so far.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_u-boat

Beta
This is a new DOD map I started on last night and its set within a U-Boat pen on the coast of France. This is the beginning of one of three sub slips inside the pen.

The map is a custom map I have been asked to make for the DOD clan YC-UK (Young Active Hooligans), after they saw and hosted my dod_pegasus_bridge map. I am creating two versions, the clan version with banners, etc; and a public version.

The mission is simple:

ALLIES: Shortly after landing in Normandy the Allied forces are ordered to attack a Nazi sub pen on the Southern side of the Cotentin Peninsula. While arial bombardment has managed to breach part of the pen and destroy a U-Boat, another two are still protected inside the fortification. The Allies are charged with clearing the pen of any Nazi forces and destroying the remaining two U-Boats.

AXIS: With the invasion force dominating the Air and Sea, the German forces inside the pen are unable to launch the subs to safety. They're only option is to dig in and try and repel the Allied ground forces, saving the U-Boats till they are able to make their escape.

My first Day of Defeat map, I dont know how the gameplay is going to be, but I think this map is fun when its completed.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_pegasus_bridge

The download link above is back up thanks to the wonderful broadband connection at my Uni (and thanks to about all of my internet quota). The problem with textures in the latest version of DOD is fixed, so download away!
Finally got it finished. Its taken a while, what with uni, work and my budding graphic design business, but its done. And if i do say so, quite a beauty. The r_speeds are high but well within the capabilities of any with a half decent PC. I'd only recommend a LAN though, might struggle a bit over the web.

It's a bit of a showcase map for me, meaning to be playable, which it is, but also as realistic as HL will allow, until HL2 that is. its pretty faithful to the real location, with some inclusions and exclusions for various reasons.

Anyway it a pretty fun and at times frantic map, I hope you enjoy it. Agent Smith
Well finally I have finished dod_pegasus_bridge. Its been a long slog, tying to fit in mapping time around work and uni, but I have done it.

I should have some final screenshots up in the next couple of days and hopefully a download after that. It features custom textures by me (a lot however from various wads not by me, and a couple of pilfered textures from MOH: Allied Assault).

Now the question everyone has been wanting an answer for, r_speeds. Well I'm sure there'll be lots of happy chappies because the r_speeds are higher than my promised 1500 w_poly. However, if you'll notice the 99% complete, I'm in the process of tweaking and correcting some areas where I got a bit carried away, so hopefully it will be lowered to a figure closer to the promised. But please, I know about r_speeds and limits, so don't tell me they're too high, I ALREADY KNOW!
This is my latest dod map, and has been in the works for the last 6 months. As the name would suggest it is based around the Battle of Pegasus Bridge, the capture of Pegasus bridge over the Caen Canal on D-Day by British troops.

The map is based entirely around the bridge and is set at night, with three capture points as well as some piat objectives for the Brits.

I have been making this map to look as real as possible, and is almost an exact replica of the actual Pegasus Bridge and surrounding area. As such you can expect higher than average r_speeds, but I have limited r_speeds to 1500 w_poly, which everybody should still be able to run, while allowing me some leeway in detail.

Anyway it is looking pretty good so far, and hopefully I will have some screenshots up soon.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_narvik

Beta
This map was originally by Trojan Tiger. I was in contact with him and was given the opportunity to update it. So I'm keeping the general layout the same while giving the look and structure a big overhaul.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_bastogne

Beta
The battle for bastogne was a major turning point in the German Ardennes offensive. the 101st airborn was Trapped inside the city for 5 days by the 5th Panzer Division before reinforcments arrived, driving the Germans back.

In this map the allies must hold the city untill reinforcements arrive.
The map is fairly small, but it is planned that most of the buildings will be enterable, whith a large veriety of paths to each capture area.

update I still plan on completeing this map, but I think I will have to allmost entierly rebuild it.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_danker

by fokker
WARNING! This map is a deathmatch not related to WW2 in any way, shape, or form.

This is a deathmatch (what else would I make?). Any rate, let me start off by asking you a question. If you think back to your school days, isn't there one particular class that instantly jumps into your mind? The class you had the most fun in? The class where the most antics occured? Well I certainly can. The grade: 8th. The period: I can't remember. The subject: Algebra. The teacher: One Mr. John Ellis (for a picture of him just look at any picture of WWF wrestler Steve Blackmen and add about thirty years). My friends will definitely enjoy this, perhaps you will too in some sick, twisted way...

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_rural

Beta
The map is called dod_rural (working title) and is set in the middle of some large wheat fields in Normandy early on D-Day morning. The main feature is a train station, a long section of track and a dirt road that runs along both. The train station has been temporarily converted into a German Panzer division field HQ and is protected from aerial assault by two flak 88's. There are only three panzers remaining and are under repairs, the others having been sent to the front.

The allies are US paratroopers who have landed in the fileds down the road from the station, and their goal is to capture the flak 88's and train station, and take out the three imobalized panzers using satchel charges and a bazooka.

The axis have to defend the station, the tanks and the 88's from the allied assault.

The objectives are close together, making it slightly easier for the allies in that respect, but the challenge for the allies is managing to get to the station. The allies have to advance along a stretch of road and rail lines, with little cover besides the odd burnt out vehicle and ditch. the station itself is also easily defendable, as it is a fixed position and the germans are dug in.

so far I have only made the station, but more is comming soon.

Day Of Defeat (HL) dod_trenches

by Andrei
The Allies start in their own trench and have a bomb to blow up the German Pillbox (where the Germans start). Also, they must hold their trench, or the Axis will score if they reach the capture point. The pic SUX, i know, but pls try out this map, i say its pretty fun and nice.PS: Be amased: i didnt add any howitzers/mg42s in there...
