<span style="color: lightblue;">Then the thousands of ducks swarm over
the land and spread bird flu to all the towns people who are too weak
from the storm to fight them off. At that same moment gays will
start to wed themselves, destroying the very fabric of time and space.

I hate the news. They overblow the things that arn't a threat then turn a deaf ear on the s**t that affects all of us.

The media tends to overblow small things like sars which I think only like 2 or 3 percent of people who caught it died from, but doesn't want to freak people out too bad by telling them things like how many people die of the cold and diarrhea and other common things like that.
Reckless disregard for childrens well being, women and nothing but utter contempt for other cultures.

I am so stinking tired of hearing about Louisiana's hurricane woes I could scream.

Every state in the union has its own emergency contingency plans. Louisiana just had a s**tty one and it bit them in the ass.

Last years flooding was just the latest in a series of floods dating back to the cities foundation. The state has been cashing in on tourists for decades. If they couldn't put some of that cash away for a rainy day, screw'em.

I am not heartless but I am fed up with this feel sorry for me champaign. The damned hurricanes hit the coast and drove fuel prices through the roof. The flooding news only served to dilute that major catastrophe. After all, only a heartless asshole would think about gas prices when homeless people are needing food.

What gripes my ass most is the fools are putting the damned city right back in the floodplain. How long will it be before we once again have to bail them out of their thoughtlessness?

I say, let'em drown next time. If they are that stupid, we don't need their genes polluting the pool.

<span style="color: lightblue;">some one hates black people.

no, I agree. You don't build your
sand castle 10 feet below sea level in the path of almost every
hurrican for the last million years and expect things to work out.

people think blacks were the only people f*cked by the hurrican that
calling New Orleans dumb is a racist statment.

For the record, don't blame FEMA.

FEMA is a federal agency, when it gets involved, the situation is in the hands of the capable US government, and the local government can't do shiiinanigans.

Frankly, I want to run my yard, how about you?

Seriously? You see no difference?

Color has nothing to do with anything but dumb sure as hell does. If people are committed to doing dumb things, like moving back into a floodplain, then they need to drown.

Thats not a cruel, or hateful comment. But how dumb is it to set up house on a boat thats got hoes in the hull?

Well, the Darwin Awards certainly qualify as tactless.

I sit and stare. No matter how long I look, this sentence makes no sense.

What does race have to do with natural selection? I mean, I am cognizant that my drowning comment is in poor taste but its hardly untrue. Yet, my concern is that you see that Race and Natural selection are one and the same.

Perhaps we need to back up a few posts and you can clarify to me what you meant and when I get home tonight we can start fresh.

It's about the word "tactless" not about race. For my definition "tactless" means that you ignore the feelings of the people involved. Racial humor can be tactless because you ignore the racial discrimination in our society. Saying that people deserve to drown for whatever reason is tactless, too, in my opinion. I mean if I had a child that decides to move to a city in a dangerous region I'd be angry but if he or she died I wouldn't want to hear any "they deserved it!" comments. I'd find it very tactless. That's all I meant. I just saw the word tactless and thought it was a word that came to my mind briefly when I read you other post, too. Phew...

This is my view:

If a person dies because of an event that they have no control over, its a sad thing. Its deserving of my time to think "those poor people"

On the other hand, if someone is self destructive, even through thoughtlessness, then they do not deserve a moment of my time. The world is better off without them. If these people move back to New Orleans, and the next flood drowns them, they knew in advance that the possibility existed. Same holds true for people who build homes on hillsides or beach fronts. If their home falls down, and they are subsequently harmed... Its part of living there. Its not a sorrowful moment. Its just the price. They knew the price and opted to say "Its worth it."

I know that natural disasters are part of almost every location around the globe but some areas are more prone than others and to deny this is pure stupidity. I live in the middle of tornado alley. I know this, and live with it each and every summer. I would no more cry about the possibility than someone else who has never known a tornado at all.

In the end though, if someone knows the dangers, and opts to ignore them for reasons they are willing to deal with.. Oh well.

Now, to sympathize with you, if you had a daughter who drowned because she moved to Louisiana, I would mourn for you, not her. The survivors of any tragedy are the only ones that need the time anyway.

The best things in life, aren't things.
