Hi All.
I once found a webpage with a tutorial on Traditional Ctf. Btw... Traditional ctf is where the flag can be returned by touching it and can only be capped if their teams flag is returned. I was wondering if any of yous could help me find the website.

Thats Half-Life ctf, different to Traditional CTF.
Ever played Unreal Tournament? That has tradtional ctf. Mebe i should explain it more.
With tradtional ctf...say blue steals reds flag. Someone on the red team kills the fc, and the flag is dropped. Then if a member of the red team touches the flag, the flag is returned. If the blue team has reds flag back to their base, and is trying to cap it, they can only capture it if their flag is in their base. If the red team has their flag, they have to gt it back before capturing it.

That tutorial for a Half-Life MOD, Team Fortress classic, and it tells you how to do exactly what you just said..

Ok...Lets try this again...
Vash, not it isn't. Read what it says. It has nothing at all about the red team being able to return their flag. For that Im pretty sure youd need a team detect thing aswell.
Cash... I know. I trying to make traditional CTF in TFC if you want specific, and the UT was only an EXAMPLE to try and explain what I was looking for.

Surely with TFCs fancy entities you could do this? I'm not familiar with TFC mapping... I dont think many people map for it anymore, so it might be hard to find someone who knows how to do this.
I think 1 TFC map does this... where you cant cap the flag unless you have your flag.

To be honest, I don't think it's free ... it needs those opfor basic files, no ? (to convert them into steam *.gcf's ?)

No,
I just removed Opposing Force from steam. Re-booted Steam, and Opposing Force is greyed out, if I go to it steams asks if I wish to install it and warns me its 180megs and will be downloaded off of valve. So, yeah it's free. It basically downloads the GCF file, then when that is ran Steam creates the game folder. I don't think Valve would give you that much power, because if Steam took your files and did that, what's to stop you from doing the same? You could make your own GCF files and stuff.
Remember when Steam came out and it was all hyped with Cached games? That was the GCF files. That's the whole point of Steam, you don't physically need the game cd's you can download them. Right now, for current products all you need to do that is a valid HL key.

So do we have an answer for this flag behavior dilemma? Unsolved mystery? Verifiably impossible?
