                        Christ almighty orph, Enough m8.
Hawkins doesnt want to spend endless amounts of time on something he doesnt love anymore & doesnt see the point in doing.
He could just not release it, But that would mean hes wasted his time before. He would prefer to release it as it is, And to be honest that doesnt really matter.
There isnt a map you couldnt say "well they could have done that" to. If he doesnt want to spend more time on it, Then leave it at that. He can spend his time on a project he wants to work on & move on.
The only reason hes finished the map up to how it is now is because he wants to move on without losing the time he spent on it before.
Its not the end of the world, Its not what he describes as his best map, Hes happy with it being what it is.
I'm sure loads of people have released maps where they thought, Meh I may aswell release it as it is, Because ive spent a fair amount of time on it, But its not something im going to treat as a great map I expect to be played, Il just be happy its been good practice & move onto a project I enjoy mroe now.

Adam, the point here is that a few people think you can make this map much better if you spent more time on it, and you might benefit from it (I can't comment as I haven't seen it myself, although I've seen some of your earlier FLF maps and they're pretty damn nice, always was jealous of your Siberian one!). Sure, some weird words and odd statements might have been banded about- we all know Orph can have trouble expressing himself properly sometimes!- but hey, this is the internet, so s**t happens, but think about the underlying message

Osiris was never meant to be anything more than a simple arena that captured the feel of the concept art. It's already more than I planned it to be. That's the point I was trying to get across. To do the theme justice, I feel I would have to build a new map with a 'proper' layout, which I am eager to do. Osiris is not representative of my work, and I know I can do better. Why this escalated this far is beyond me.
I apologise to all the forum regulars who have been dragged into this - but as far as Orph goes, i'm not willing to bow down.
My argument ends here.

You are at the last straw when you are just about to lose your patience. The straw that broke the camel's back is the last thing that that happened that finally made you upset. Example: "He came to work late every day that week. Then on Friday, he didn't show up at all." Reply: "That was the straw that broke the camel's back."
There's a definition for your Adam. It's where the saying "thats the last straw" comes from.

Thanks ReNo. I'd heard 'the last straw' bit, but the camel's back was confusing me

Are you all as moronic as your posts would suggest? Do you even see that, in spite of every attempt to dramatize and escalate such an everyday Battle of the Egos, that what you're actually arguing about means next to absolutely nothing when it gets to the point of, 'YOU APOLOGIZE!' 'NO, YOU APOLOGIZE!' 'NO, YOU APOLOGIZE TIMES INFINITY!'
Sweet Jesus, had I not already known that the regulars of the Snarkpit were some of the smartest and talented people I would ever meet, had I come to this thread for the first time I visited SnarkPit, I would be gone. This is not what this forum is about, ladies and gentlemen, and we get into far too many battles like this (note that I'm full aware that I start half of them.)
Despite the fact that you both, Orph and Adam, could have maybe looked at what I wrote and have solved something, both of you declined to write so much as a letter in response. If you didn't see it, read it now, and for the love of God, if either of you will have the tiniest bit of respect for the fact that this is the thread for a map, not a person (and don't think that only applies to Orph), please don't drag this out.
So Adam, don't be so defensive, and Orph, calm down. If you really insist upon seeing how long you can both be simultaneously stubborn, keep it to PM's, if you would please.
Just trying to keep the peace,
 - 'cause that's how we do it in the L.C.

I think this has to be one of the more idiotic arguments I've seen in a while... I'm not going to explain why, but it is rather obvious...

Why not all agree to disagree and get on about talking about the nice map Adam has created.
One of the nicer most newer DM maps I've seen. Works pretty well while looking extremely nice, now only if Botman made better bots to play with hmmm ...

I think it's a fun map. You do get stuck on some of the firepots and trees during gun-fights, but other than that, weapon placement seems pretty balanced.
It handles groups pretty well, too. Had a group of 16 playing on my server. No bad comments..all good.
Well done map.

You're low-grav hater, huh? All the cool parts are clipped off.

I clipped off those areas as the r_speeds in them were a tiny bit high - due to the whole of the map being visible when you're up there.
I would have preferred to not clip it but needs must
