I came across three realizations recently.
1) TFC could support up to four teams at once. This revelation surprised both my roommate and one of my HL-playing friends, so it seemed like a concept I needed to explore further.
2) TFC has some textures that aren't too bad, and blend well with the default halflife.wad ones, so making a map shouldn't be TOO hard...
3) Conker's Bad Fur Day had an interesting CTF variant that I'd like to try recreating.
Here's my map. It's not done at all yet (yeah, ignore the black doorways and stuff, as well as the whacked-out lighting in that one hallway) but by the end it should be pretty small, think 4 teams of 1-3 people at most. Basically the one flag in the middle is trying to be captured by all four teams, and grabbing it and returning it to your colored exit scores you 15 points. Booyah. If dropped the flag lasts a measly 5 seconds on the floor before it respawns so you'd better have a lot of bodyguards on the way back!
EDIT: This map looked stupider before, so I took out the screenshots and requests that went here.
3) Criticism, ideas, comments, suggestions are welcome.
I'll keep working on this one so more areas and screenshots are coming...

 I like it the way it is.. But maybe edit the texture to change the colros a bit? Or get some better textures for the rooms to match the flag dome. I love the brushwork, very nice.

The map "murderball" did this already, although not very well. It's ugly and is rarely fun.
Custom textures!!!

The floors textures are miss-matched, you've got wood then laminant flooring, which would look weird anywhere. Nice flag room though.

Custom textures and extensive playtesting  4 team TFC maps have a reputation as being shockingly bad!

I worry about this map though, it's got a wood and yellow and cream theme that I think can only go so far... maybe I'll find me some blue or green tile for those back hallways.
EDIT: Perhaps I'll retexture the whole thing to look like a temple.
EDIT2: Perhaps I'll retexture the whole thing to look like 2fort

I would go for 2fort-style. No need to find custom textures, and who doesn't love 2fort ?

Particularly with that dome, a temple setting would work well. plus it gives you the opertunity to use lots of cool curving brushwork!

OH NOES!
Get Blaz_Sand.wad (don't know if that's the exact title) for some better Egypt textures.
BTW, the trim texture underneath the steps in picture 2 looks teh blocky.

Looks good horn, but I think you ought to use a more amorphous texture on that dome since it is patently impossible to align anything properly up there. besides, even the greeks and romans used concrete for their domes...

I'm shooting for a mix using Blazeer's sandwad and Socks' egypt textures, as you can see. I hope it turns out well.
Also, I retextured the dome (again) with a gray concrete, but that's subject to change. I think I need some piles of sand around too.

Hey, I seem to have forgotten completely about this map. Too bad, it might've been cool. If I can get QuArK to emulate right I might pick it up again.
