Well, I know nothing about editing for this game, but let's see if we can get some tutorials and maps up! There are 2 files up though- an editor and map compiler- and feel free to pimp this site up amongst your little CoDish selves

:DDDDD

il add some files / tutorials / etc up later today

Btw: another official IW file is this:
http://www.codfiles.com/file.info?ID=22615

They released some viewmodel tools for modellers.

The best compiler tool out atm is written by storm of planetcod & can be found here:
http://w1.261.telia.com/~u26123488/CoDbuilderInstall.exe

its not official, But its great.

no, the official tools come with the editor. What codbuilder does is make a much better UI for the mapper to use. Much like erm, That compiler that orph used to use.

Lep, Ive added a CoD tutorial, But it doesnt seem to have adde properly. Its in my profile I think, But not on SP.

EDit: nvm. Just noticed they have to be checked.

Also: the maps section. I suggest you just put single player & multi player maps as one map can have more than one gametype

Hmm, I thought that Search & Destroy maps were usually seperate from 'normal' maps though? I can see maps with different gameplay modes being a bit confusing under just one section

nah, When you make a multiplayer map you can define which modes its possible to play on & enter spawns for each game type.

Perhaps you could add a piece of info to the map details defining which gameplay modes it can play.

Otherwise youl end up with one map being uploaded several times for each game mode because it plays them all.

is cod a fishing game or something

seems more likely that an UnrealEd forum would get used, tbh... :dodgy: Or maybe a BF1942 one.

Jinx, I'm sure Lep would give an Unreal forum a chance, especially if someone put up the basic tutorials.

Ok, well point taken about other games too, I'm going to have to change a few things internally, and do more cross-linking between games and editors... it's a bit of a nightmare, but it'll be sorted

You need the game to install the editor, yes. But you can always just install a 'normal' version of Radiant and have a fiddle anyway!

Ive played the CoD demo... its pretty good. For those who havent played it, think a singleplayer campaign based DoD, with slightly better gfx.

Do you suppose its possible to make CoD maps with the demo? I seem to remember, I was able to map for HL:Uplink before I spent money on the full game.

Doubt it, the CoD editor says it needs a full version of the game to install- but I'm sure it only does a quick registry check, so perhaps you can easily fool it if you get a friend to send you the correct registry 'structure'

Hey all. I have a question about Terrain Patches in Radiant. I followed
a mapping tutorial on this site and it really got me thinking about
trying to create some maps for COD. The only thing left out of the
tutorial is how you actually add a terrain patch when you are finished
shaping it and texturing it. I tried right clicking on it add selecting
"Make Detail" and "Make Structural" but my terrain patch just
disappears. Actually it just dissappears when I do anything with it,
including pressing "Escape" . Can someone tell me how to add a terrain
and make it solid.

Thanks.

It should default to a structural piece, dont worry about detail brushes yet.

What texture are you applying to the brush? & have you experienced problems like this before?

Also, press F to check your filters.

I just start off making a patch, move the vertices to get the desired
shape. I've added many textures, grass, snow, rock but it doesn't
make a difference. When my terrain patch is there on screen with a
texture applied, it looks reddish, indicating that it's still in some
kind of "Edit" mode. When I'm happy with a patch, what is the standard
proceedure to allow me to then creat another object, patch, box etc?
When I click outside my patch it just scales or moves. Is there some
kind of command/button that makes it finalised and part of my map for
good? I'm new to Radiant so I've never experienced this before - total newbie situataion - the embarrassment!!

Thanks again KoRnflakes.

Escape should mean "ive finished witht his brush" im not really sure as to why it would remove your brush :/

So, if you create a terrain patch, texture it and hit escape, your patch remains on the screen and you are ready to create another patch/brush?

Yeah, I have checked around for anybody else experiencing problems with dissapearing brushes but found nothing. I'm honestly not sure whats wrong, I would try a reinstall of the program.
