This is a a discussion topic for the map "Vanguard" by ReNo which can be found here

Map description:

Snarkpit 2003 "Concept art" mapping contest entry.

Please note that this is only a showpiece map - there are no weapons or items, and it is mostly just deadends. The water looks rubbish and the map runs like crap, but what can I say, the deadline loomed and compiles took months :D

You have such an eye for design and architecture. You are my favorite mapper by far. Much like the first comment said, never stop mapping it gives ppl inspiration for maps.

I'm sure there is something that can be done to slightly lower the R's, but at this point with HL2 on its way it dosent really matter all that much. Great map ReNo, as always, keeps me motivated :)

Gameplay and connectivity in this map is terrible ;) but atmosphere and architecture is astonishing :). Therefor I give it a 5 due to the competitions rules. I recommend you make this map playable! Great work!

Impressing. I really like how you did the landscape. I use another method for cliffs/landscape... Maybe I`ll change to your method some day..

Keep it up :)

My method is covered in the rockwork tutorials in the "scenery" section here, I think they cover the process pretty well. Thanks for all the comments guys :)

ah, I remember seeing the first bits of this -way- back in the day... ;) if you know what I mean :D

Very very cool, but my only gripe would be the sky compared to the environment lighting. One or the other needs to be changed for a better match, which I think would do nothing but help this already very super-spiffy scene :) Ah well. I'm just a picky little annoying type :P hehe
