Some of you might have remembered a while back I mentioned being in the interview process with a 'major studio.' I had a phone interview a couple weeks ago, and I thought it went very well. It seems I was right.
Yesterday I received word they want to fly me out for an on-site interview! I've been rather hyperactive ever since. Dunno when it'l happen yet, as it's not for an immediate hiring (most likely after the wedding), but I imagine I'll get it taken care of in the next month or two. Whee!
I know that doesn't really tell you much, but I'm just really really excited. And you NW people, keep quiet.

Sweetness KFS, sweetness.
Funnily enough, I just came back from a University interview for a Computer And Video Games development course at the University of Salford in Manchester. It went quite well, I must say. It felt really good to talk to someone IRL about video games at the level of depth I did with the admissions tutor. Oh well, Fingers crossed, eh?

 Thanks, guys. Looking like it'll be the second week in March sometime that this all goes down. Gave either that or April as options, later in April since I'm having minor ear surgery the third week of March and flying might not be healthy for a few weeks after that  hehe.
Oi. Excitement. dances
Hell, I'm just excited to go see the place; I'm hardly even comprehending the fact that if things go well I may be offered a job there. Just a chance to walk around and meet some of the folks will be worth the trip in itself.

If you don't mind me asking, why aren't you revealing the name of this "major studio"? Or did I miss something drastically obvious which will no doubt result in humiliation on my part?

I don't want to go into too much detail at this point since, until there's an offer on the table, it's just a friendly visit to a development studio.

Well, right when they first approached me about the spot and I had the phone interview, she was actually terrified. A few times she told me in tears that she didn't think she'd be able to go along if I were offered a spot, which would have meant automatically that I'd have turned it down, because I wouldn't go anywhere without her.
However, as time went on and we talked about it more, she has since greatly opened to the idea and now is as excited as I am about the prospect. We'll just have to see what happens now.
